Sore from progesterone pessary use

I’m going through immunotherapy treatment for my pregnancy and part of it involves use of progesterone pessaries. I’m having to do rectally as vaginally caused spotting but 5 weeks of doing it and I’m starting to feel discomfort and sore “back there”. It’s not piles fortunately but I’m so nervous about doing something wrong I wanted to ask if something like sudocrem to sooth it would cause an adverse reaction? Or if someone knew of a good alternative? Thank you x

I'm sure sudocrem or something similar used on the outside would be fine. Might be best to speak to the pharmacist about something to use internally, I'm sure they would have something suitable.

I started using Cyclogest a week ago - I'm impressed you got to 5 weeks before you got a sore bum!! I've been using it rectally as well because I'm prone to cystitis/thrush and was already sore after a few days. So now I'm alternating - I find if I lie down for about 40 mins when I put it in vaginally (in the evening) it absorbs without me having to put it in too far where it could irritate my cervix.

Have you had many side effects from it?

After furiously googling everything says I can't use anything! I'll ask my consultant next week to be safe as I'm be super careful this time not to do anything wrong!

I'm on steroids as well for my treatment so it may not be cyclogest sideffects but I got bloating and sore boobs. But now it all just melts together with my pregnancy symptoms so I don't really notice them anymore over my steroid side effects.
