Covid/flu jab and early pregnancy

Hello,

I found out I was pregnant on Friday, I think am 4+6.

Now I'm eligible and don't want to get ill with something that could affect the pregnancy, I booked my Covid & flu jab for today.

Now worrying that it might be too soon in the pregnancy and actually the jab could affect things.

Has anyone had any advice on when to get jabs in pregnancy?

I got the flu jan during pregnancy but not the covid one.

I didn't feel any negative effects from the jab at all.

I got the flu jab and two covid jabs while pregnant, and my baby is just fine.

Thanks, that's reassuring. I'm just at such and early stage and worrying about everything, I wondered if it's better to wait until 12 weeks...

Definitely get the flu jab now as it’s flu season now.

COVID at maybe 9 weeks, all looks good at the 12 week scan! Still need to book in for my flu!

TurkeyTrouble · 21/11/2022 18:59

I'm 4+2 & was pondering this earlier so thank you OP for starting this, & congrats x

So I went and had my Covid, then she asked if I was allergic to eggs and I remembered I'd had a couple of funny responses to runny eggs before I was pregnant. She didn't want to take the risk of me having a reaction so now I'm on the hunt for an egg free flu jab!

Check out Children's Health Defence. They have lots about the COVID jab and pregnancy.

Personally I wouldn't. They may say millions of pregnant women have had it however anyone bothered looking at stillbirths rates last year! And we won't know about development delays for years or issues with their fertility or long term for decades!
We used to not give pregnant women drugs/vaccines still in trial.
When I looked up actual COVID deaths in pregnant women it's pretty non existent.

Risk V reward just didn't crack it for me!

Very helpful when I posted that I already had it yesterday!!

Hi. Did you get your jab in a hospital during your midwife appt? Or was it midwife in your local GP practice? I'd like to kill two birds with one stone, instead of booking millions of appointments here and there 😵

Writerscompanion · 22/11/2022 11:34

Haven't heard back from the midwife yet, I'm only 5 weeks. I just went to local pharmacy.

Ah thank you. I'm waiting to hear back from midwife for flu jab, as I wouldn't like to pay for it 😂I'm 5 weeks too.
