Badger notes - screening results

Hi everyone,

I had my combined tests on Friday. There is a section for test results on the badger notes app. Does anyone know how long it takes for results to show on this app? I imagine it’s a bit quicker than waiting for the letter?

Hi @Veryxonfused
I don't know the answer I'm afraid but am very interested in how you are finding the app in general? The hospital I work for had just started using it and I wonder what it's like.

I've just come off maternity myself but used the old paper yellow book system, which I couldn't fault..

The app is fine I think and I like how you can see all results etc. My booking appointment test results were on there and I did have one abnormal result (UTI test). I missed the call from my midwife and I couldn’t get through to her but I could go on the app and see all results were normal and it was just the urine test that showed a UTI. So thankfully didn’t get into a massive panic before the midwife got back to me.
The only issue I have with it is that sometimes appointments go on the app and this is the only way they contact me. I don’t get a phone call or letter just a notification on the app which easily could be missed

I actually have an appointment on there right now and I don’t have a clue what it’s for or where it is

It just depends on how quick your midwife is at putting the results on.

Rose429 · 20/11/2022 22:55

I received the result for combined tests after about 3 days through the post. Badger notes app has my blood test result from the booking appointment with midwife but not the combined test result.

rebecca100 · 21/11/2022 02:09

@Veryxonfused is the combined screening the Down syndrome etc?
If so I had my 16 week midwife appointment yesterday and she said those results won't appear on Badger Notes as they are linked to the 12 week scan. I was given the results by the sonographer at my 12 week scan once she had taken all of baby's measurements. The results were also on the print out the sonographer gave me.

Mine have been 2 weeks so far and counting! It depends when your midwife uploads them. They should call you if it's a worrying number though

Hi there, OP. I had my test on 10th November and the results were up on my badger app on 16th. I wasn't told to expect this and didn't receive a notification, I just logged in each day out of curiosity. They had said expect a phone call within four working days if high risk, otherwise a letter within ten. Although no letter as yet. I reckon the app must be the main mode of communication in my trust.

mummyh2016 · 21/11/2022 06:57

Mine was showing on the app within 3 days, before the letter came.

PinkButtercups · 21/11/2022 07:05

When I first went to my midwife she said she put the blood tests results on, on a Sunday (her day off) regardless of when they were taken but would phone if anything was high/low.

My care then got transferred to the hospital (twins) and they don't put any results on unless they physically type them in which they don't seem to do. They said the app doesn't really work great their end and waiting for IT to sort it out but doesn't seem to be working. I never got my results on the app and got a letter about 10 days later but they said if something is wrong with the combined testing they contact you before 7 days.

I don't get told about appointments either. If I check the app they're there.

I do prefer the paper notes to badger notes. I do still have my purple notes but results don't go in there either.

Thanks all

Yes @rebecca100 for down syndrome etc

I will update when it does actually go on/I do find out
I assume if by Friday I haven't got a call I'm probably low risk

I had my 12 week scan over a month ago and the screening results have not been updated on the app. Luckily I had the results posted after two weeks to say low risk.
I find the app really bad for being updated. Maybe it depends on what area your in as to how good they are at updating things

pinkkpanther · 24/11/2022 22:03

It took agessss for mine to be put on badger notes. At first I didn't think they were going to bother but it eventually showed when I was randomly checking the app

Wwhite1386 · 02/12/2022 20:42

Where abouts on badger notes were your combined screening test results saved? I had mine 5 days ago, nothing yet. They said wait 2-3 weeks for a letter or they will call you sooner if a problem. (But how long is sooner?) I'm waiting for results before my announcement but I'm 13 weeks with no 2 and already look pregnant!

Mine are in the ‘blood and microbiology results’ part

To update this thread I finally got my results on Thursday (13 days after testing was done) - I ended up ringing as no sign of the letter and I was impatient. They put my results on the app 10 mins after I got off the phone with them
My results are totally normal and very low risk (1 in 41,000 Down’s syndrome, 1 in 100,000 pataus)
Still no letter has come through so if I hadn’t rang it would be a 2+ wk wait

I had the screening test on 27th October, results are still not showing on badger notes. I do have them on the information printed by the sonographer.

Update from me that I've now had another midwifery appt, my results are all low risk (yay!) but still nothing on the app. So @CucumberCool my advice would be it's only as good as staff having time to update it!
