First trimester weight and eating concerns

I'm finally pregnant with #2 after a couple of losses so I'm SO grateful to be here.

10 weeks along.

I feel so so nauseous and the only thing that helps is eating carbs and basically anything bad for me.

My clothes are already all tight and I look as if I've gained about a stone I'd say (too scared to actually weigh myself). Naturally slim size 10 but I can really feel this weight gain and I'm not surprised when all I want is buttery bread and chips.

Any advice on either how to control my eating OR words of wisdom that the weight gain will slow down?

With my first I didn't gain a pound until about 16 weeks! But this is terrifying me that it will be impossible to shift and I'm doomed to gain 7 stone in the next 7 months 😬

Try not to worry! I found I are junk in first trimester but got better once sickness wasn't so bad. I'm pregnant with my second and found I showed quicker this time around, which seems quite common with people I've chatted with.

I'd say hop on the scales and get it over with, you'll probably surprise yourself in a good way! I've been weighing myself every week (as I did before pregnancy as I was losing weight) and I've put on 2lbs in the first 12 weeks. However, I feel like I've put on a hell of a lot more 😂 I think the bloating/constipation/higher level of scrutiny of our bodies tricks us into thinking it's worse than it is!

Just weighed myself and I've gained 8lbs. I'm absolutely horrified

That's about half what you were thinking though! It's easier said than done but I'd try not to worry about it, you're growing a baby and your eating habits have had to change to accommodate that. When you're feeling a bit better again you can keep off the carbs if that's what you'd prefer! X

Hello! I’m 9+3 with #1 and in the exact same boat. Mcdonalds hashbrowns, fries and nuggets are about the only things I can stomach to keep off nausea and I’ve piled on almost a stone in the last 4 weeks 😞- also a size 10 and 5ft 6 before this and now I’m easily a size bigger (i bust the seam on my suit skirt last week) and my BmI is well into overweight. Dreading my booking appt but trying to focus on the fact that it should get better when the placenta takes over and can focus on healthy eating then and also as long as baby is healthy it’s okay I resemble a portly gnome!
