Can anyone help - Worried mum to be

Me and my husband already have 3 lovely children. Just after Christmas we had unprotected sex and got carried away. I went to my local pharmacy and took the morning after pill 36 hours later. I am now 6 weeks pregnant, this method obviously failed for me. My GP cannot reassure me that there will be no harm to the developing baby. He says that there is not enough research into this, but as far as he knows the risk is not significant. I have not rested in weeks. Has anyone else had a similar experience or any advice. Many thanks. x

You would probably get more advice about it from a pharmacist than a GP. The morning after pill does fail in several cases, it is something like a 90% success rate that drops the further away from the unprotected sex you get. This means that many babies are the result of failed morning after pill and I have never heard of any problems with it. Good Luck
