Just wondering if anyone has had the same as me before, so I went for my routine 12 weeks scan and everything looked great they was really happy said baby looks well and healthy!
later that evening I wiped and had some blood, I’ve had spotting before after sex, but this was a little more than spotting, still not enough to cover a pad but enough to worry me. It stopped pretty much that evening and turned to the brownish colour the next day, gp seems to think the ultrasound caused it? But I didn’t think this was even possible it was a normal pelvic scan so not a vaginal one too. Had anyone else experienced this?

I had a lot of spotting throughout both of my pregnancies, including brownish blood after a scan once. They say that brown blood is 'old blood', so there's potentially some blood that was left over and hadn't come away, but that doesn't harm the baby if that makes sense.
I would always recommend getting it checked out though if you're worried, if you call you're early pregnancy unit they should be able to advise

Yes I had the same thing after 12 week scan. They had to push my tummy quite hard to get the right angles and I’m now convinced that it ‘pushed’ some old blood out of my cervix. At the time I was terrified but it stopped and now I’m 31 weeks.

Thankyou to those who responded thought I’d update incase anyone else has this and comes across this post, bleeding stopped, got checked out around 14 weeks and they did a scan, baby was all ok and healthy, since being fully in the second trimester I haven’t had any spotting or bleeding so hoping that’ll be it now! 🙂
