Third baby - anyone have their 1st two arrive early and then the 3rd arrive late?

I am 30weeks pg with my 3rd dc, my first two arrived 7 and 10 days early respectfully. I now have to make arrangements for my mother to fly into the country to help, but not sure when to get her here.

Until this week everyone (including midwives) have said if your first two arrived early then this one will too. So I have been planning for this.

But suddenly yesterday someone told me of one person whose first two arrived early then their third was late and even needed to be induced.

Please what should I think? Anyone else had their 3rd much later than previous ones? Please help as pregnancy hormones are now making me fret about it.....!

One of my friends did. She booked for her husband and kids to go away at half term, on the basis that baby no. 3 would have arrived by then (a week before her due date). Baby was 10 days late ...

Should have said, the first two were both a week or so week early.

my mum had 6 children, each arrived exactly 2 weeks early. Unbelievable I know, but as far as I know she's an honest lady and I get the story quite a lot. I'd say you will probably have the baby early. It's hard to make plans with relative abroad isn't it. Take care

Yes I did ! I was so shocked !
dd1 was 3 days early, and dd2 was 10 days early, so was fully expecting number 3 to arrive before the due date, if not even earlier than the others ! But I went 5 days overdue and was annoyed, I knew it had to be boy being so different and it was. Much harder more painful labour too, (sorry !) but quickest.
mw told me second normally faster than first, but third babies are infamously unpredictable ! Was true for me !

This is not exactly what you asked for her but anyway - dd1 15 days late (induction) dd2 7 days late (under her own steam) and dd3.........8 days late (well 2.30am on 41 +1) - again under own steam.

I personally would have said that your baby will be early - although I do know someone who went, 3 weeks early, 2 weeks early, term. There's not a whole lot you can do about it either is there?

Oh No! I am going to be in bother with my mum if I am late!!!! She lives too far away to come back anytime soon and would hate to miss seeing the baby when he was small. My mum is booked to fly back just 3 days after the due date.

Also I will be climbing the walls by then too as I am only psychologically prepared for this one to arrive early too

Thank you for all your replies, it does give me a chance to re-think about my expectations of when this little boy will arrive. As there is not alot I can do about it anyway !!!!!

I have a friend who was 5 days early with her first three, then had to be induced 2 weeks over with her 4th. First three were boys btw!

I will have the same problem here as MIL needs to be here for when I go into labour, then my Mum wants to come when I'm home from hospital. I think my dates are wrong, and I've no idea when to get their flights booked!!

ds1 4 weeks early (36 weeks)

dts induced at 38 weeks as so big (who said dts were early & small???? )

Please - anyone else out there that can reassure me that this one is bound to be early!!!!! I am needing to calm my shattered nerves , I really thought that you would all come here and say ofcause your baby will come early again But at the moment the over-dues are out numbering the continue earlies patterns!!!!!!!! eek!

I've only had two so far, first one 37+5, second 41+5 so four weeks more pregnancy to endure.

Who knows what number 3 will bring?
