Is it worth asking for medication for 24/7 nausea or do they mostly just help with vomiting?

I was on cyclizine for nausea and it did help.

I took lots of vitamin B6 both times, it really helps with nausea

I had medication for nausea not vomiting, made a huge difference for me

Huge difference i culd still eat! Sometimes food then helped on top of meds.

I had HG. Medication stopped me vomiting and retching, but nothing touched the nausea.

Cyclizine reduced the frequency of retching and vomiting and allowed me to eat properly but definitely not a magic pill in terms of nausea

jadedspark · 19/11/2022 17:18

Promethazine helped me. Still felt nauseous in the afternoons and evenings (as it started to wear off) but having the mornings back was brilliant. Also tried cyclizine which did nothing for me.

Cyclizine helped me with constant nausea.

I had hyperemeis. The doctor said 3 drugs were available for pregnancy. The first two didn't work, but metoclopramide was the game changer. It stopped me feeling nausea as well as being sick.

Thanks ladies. I’ll call gp again tomorrow. I asked for medication last week but was told they only prescribe it if absolutely necessary.
