When would you phone and say you're pregnant?

Hi all,

Found out I was pregnant a few days ago. I'm now exactly 4 weeks today. I had a MMC in August at 7 weeks and only got discharged around a month ago due to my HCG levels not coming down as fast as they should.

When should I phone hosp and tell them I'm pregnant (it's the hospital we have to contact here, not the doctors)?

They did mention something after the MMC, about phoning at 7 weeks next time so they can schedule me in for an early reassurance scan. I feel like 4 weeks is quite early to phone, just in case something does happen. But then I think I should phone now because of the MMC last time. They didn't say they want to keep a closer eye on me this time or anything, just that I'd get the scan.

I don't even know why I'm asking this, I should just phone now shouldn't I... 🤣 I guess I'm just scared and worried about going back to EPU again for early scan as obviously it doesn't hold great memories 😫 and I found out baby's heart had stopped on the day of my booking appointment last time, so I guess I'm just apprehensive about getting appointments 😫

I've never had a MC but have always called the doctors in the days after a positive test. Don't see the point in leaving it tbh.
Hope everything goes well for you this time!

I'll be leaving it until six weeks just in case.

There’s a 3 week wait in our trust so I would let them know soon so you can get booked in “in time” eg at 9ish weeks so you get referred for the 12w scan. If you leave it until 8w things may get bumped. But it’s totally up to you.

@TheBirdintheCave I was thinking 6 weeks too!

@PurBal Thank you. I did think that. I know booking appt is between 8 and 10 weeks and I'll be 10 weeks right between Christmas and New year, so thinking I may have the appt more towards 8 weeks. And if I phone at 6 weeks that only gives them two or so weeks to get me in otherwise it could end up being later than the 10 weeks 😬
