Silly paranoia- feel rotten, is it just a bug or something more sinister?

I am 17 weeks pregnant and feel like pooh.

Been in bed for the last 2 days with a temperature, bit of diarhhoea (sp?), lots of aching all over, headache and pain under ribs on right hand side. Been sleeping loads but can't stop the sound of my blood rushing though my ears which keeps waking me up!

Am sure that this is just a bug that's really getting to me but a friend of a friend of a friend recently lost her baby through undiagnosed early pre-eclampsia and now I can't get this out of my head.

Have searched on internet and apparently PE doesn't often occur before 20 weeks but am getting a bit paranoid.

Has anyone got any info/experience on early PE? Am waiting for midwife to call back but would be grateful of any reassurance in the meantime xx

17 weeks is extremely early to be getting symptoms of PE. However, pain under your ribs and headaches are both symptoms so you should probably see your mw just to get checked out and reaasure yourself. I have had severe PE and IME you don't actually feel ill (ie aching, being in bed, temperature) - sounds like you might just have a nasty bug. But definitely better to check with the mw, get your bp checked etc.

you can always call the midwife or even nhs direct to get some reassurance
