Am I pregnant?

I had a miscarriage last month, no sign of period after 4 weeks so I decided to take another pregnancy test, which was positive, sooo faint but positive, I’ve done so many tests in between alll positive, I done a clear blue digital last week which said pregnant 1-2 weeks, then I’ve done one again today and again, pregnant 1-2 weeks, all of my other tests have been getting darker, spoke to my GP that said it could be left over hormone from my miscarriage, which as all my tests were getting darker I didn’t think if would be.. but now after doing my second clear blue digital I’m not sure 😥

Gosh I really don't know about the effects of hormones after miscarriage.
Sorry that happened for you.

It is getting darker though isn't it so understand you being confused.

I hope it continues to do so. X

I'm so sorry this must be a very confusing time for you. Did your GP say when you can assume it isn't the hormones from your previous pregnancy?

Super confusing, no they literally just said it could be hormones from previous miscarriage and it would be a wait and see situation 😥♥️

For me, I had positive tests for about five weeks, and then I got my period just as I was worrying about it. My tests got continuously lighter though, not darker like yours. To be honest, I personally would also think I was pregnant again in your situation, because the tests are getting darker. If you can manage it, leave it a few days and test again, and if the line is darker still, book yourself in for a scan. It's possible you ovulated and got pregnant before your period returned. Keeping my fingers crossed for you op xx

I'm so sorry you're in this limbo land. Your doctor should have recommended taking a test about two weeks post miscarriage and repeating it until you got a negative to avoid this confusion.
Hoping this is a new pregnancy and that it all goes smoothly.

I just want to know ☹️ Either way, obviously hoping it is a new pregnancy but I really want to know 🫣 yes I’ve read a lot that peoples tests get lighter but mine started so super light and are now much noticeably darker.. it’s the CBD that’s threw a spanner in the works for me staying the same 🤷🏽‍♀️I just don’t know what to think anymore ♥️

I heard about this taking a test two weeks after thing, last week, it was never mentioned by my GP or at the EPU that scanned me etc ☹️ Wish I’d known about this beforehand

thank you ♥️

HCG from a miscarriage could still be showing up on a test, but if the tests are getting darker, that suggests a new pregnancy. You might need blood tests to check if levels are going up or down.

My GP refused a blood test, said we just have to wait and see 😥♥️

@Mamaoftwooo ugh that's so irritating they won't do the blood test! Have you done a test today? Is there line progression? Keeping my fingers crossed for you that you're pregnant 🥰

I know, I was really hoping for a blood test! I handed in a urine sample at the drs last week and they told me on Monday it was inconclusive so to hand another one in today which I have??

I only had these tests left so this is the progression with these ones.

thank you so much ♥️

Hey OP - with the tests getting darker it does suggest this could be a new pregnancy. I ovulated 2 weeks after I miscarried and tested pregnant 2 weeks after that so is possible timing wise. But it does also depend on how far along you were when you had the miscarriage (I was 6+4 and my hcg wasn’t very high so I tested negative 6 days after my bleeding started). I have everything crossed for you - so awful your dr won’t do a blood test, can you bypass dr and go straight to the EPU?

Rookiemama1 · 18/11/2022 09:27

I had a chemical pregnancy and tested positive 3 weeks and 6 days after the miscarriage. I was the exact same - Got 1-2 weeks on a digital test was panicking it was just left over HCG. I kept testing and got darker and darker on the other tests and got an early scan at 6.5 weeks and all good baby there, wee heartbeat going strong.

currently 9.5 weeks and absolutely delighted! My advice would be get an early scan if you can and best of luck xx

Mamaoftwooo · 18/11/2022 20:28

Would just like to say thank you for each and every one of the messages on here.

just a quick update, GP rang me today after speaking with EPU, as I was scanned there after my miscarriage, EPU said the miscarriage was 1000% complete, so this is a new pregnancy

GP is dating me based on the scan that showed the completed miscarriage, which was one week after I was scanned and miscarriage was confirmed

feeling very hopeful ♥️♥️

Hi! I’m sorry to hear you also miscarried 😥

EPU won’t see you here without a GP referral but I managed to speak to a GP today that spoke to EPU for me and as EPU scanned me and confirmed I was miscarrying and also scanned me a week later to confirm my miscarriage was complete, which it was, they have said that this definitely is not left over hormone and will 100% be a new pregnancy ♥️♥️

Hi! Sorry to hear you have also experienced a miscarriage 😥 I also tested positive exactly 3 weeks and 6 days after my miscarriage!
that’s so lovely to hear ♥️
yes i definitely think that I’ll be getting an early scan, don’t think I can deal with this anxiety until my 12 week scan 🤣♥️♥️

I’m so pleased for you OP, that’s such good news. Those early weeks in pregnancy after a loss can be so hard but do whatever you need to ease your anxiety (for example I got a scan every 2-3 weeks my partner thought I was mad and also stayed off all the discussion boards worrying about miscarriage/lack of symptoms etc as they sent me into a spiral). It does get easier as the weeks go on. Take care of yourself xx

I had a very early miscarriage in March 2021 and the tests were getting lighter and lighter until there was no line at all. I then got pregnant the very next month April 2021 and the tests kept getting darker like yours so it's very possible this is a new pregnancy. My son was in born in January 2022
