Hi everyone- I work in a school with the preschool population and I’ve been using off brand Lysol wipes (containing ammoniums) several times a day to wipe surfaces. I’ve pretty much done it the whole first trimester (I’m currently 11 1/2 weeks). I’m now terrified about the fumes I’ve been inhaling. I thought it was good to use them due to how many kids have RSV, Flu, and COVID, but I’ve been unintentionally harming myself and my baby. Has anyone else used Lysol or disinfectants during pregnancy and often? I need some reassurance or something to put my mind at ease, I’ve been honestly depressed that I was this stupid.

I found this online

If you have accidentally inhaled Lysol during cleaning or cleaned with Lysol without wearing gloves, it is unlikely to cause any harm to you or your baby as long as you are not experiencing any symptoms. This is because the concentration of toxic chemicals in Lysol is very low to cause immediate harm. And no studies show any harmful long-term outcome for the mother exposed to Lysol or other cleaning products during pregnancy.
