Hello :)
just wondered if any other mums to be were getting eptopic beats?

my anxiety is so bad with them they are constantly all the time mainly after eating or when I have trapped gas from baby. I’m 30 weeks pregnant and don’t know how to cope with them can’t stop having panick attacks

em xx

Hello, I was diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat about 18 months ago, and get a range of weird symptoms ranging from a fast heart to missed beats to strong beats. I had it fully investigated and it's completely harmless, just something to live with. It still freaks me out when it happens, though.

I'm now 35 weeks pregnant, and there have been times when it' really flared up. When I spoke to the consultant (pre pregnancy), she said pregnancy could make the condition go either way; some women experience more palpitations, for others it disappears altogether.

Personally I've not mentioned it to my midwife because I was reassured pre pregnancy that it's a harmless condition. Like you, I always have a connection between palpitations and something digestive, like trapped gas!

But, if it's causing you anxiety I'd mention it to your midwife, especially if it's something you haven't had investigated before.

Hey @Jellyphants

thanks for the reply!

oh bless you! It’s awful when they tell you to just live with it isent it! Specially when it’s bad.

I have SVT but luckily none of the eptopics beats have caused it to happen! They have said they are normal eptopics and it will be my hormones and baby squashing everything! But trying to get through a day with your heart constantly banging is awful isent it!

im so scared for labour because of it as I dident have them with my boy like you said mine disappeared but this time having a girl so maybe it’s her hormones too 😂😂

xx
