Hi guys,

I posted yesterday about me having a tooth out on Friday. Dentist confirmed that having a tooth out during pregnancy is fine (I’m 4w5d) and the extraction was ok.

I had it done but have been in loads of pain since. Very swollen. I’m booked in to go back tonight as paracetamol isn’t touching the pain and obviously that’s all I can take.

im drained from the pain. I’m off work. And all I’m thinking about is my little bean hoping it’s oblivious to all this and that it isn’t affecting anything? Has anyone experienced anything similar who can reassure me? I’m very emotional this morning from lack of sleep and pain. I just hope this isn’t affecting my (teeny) bubs 😭🤯 xx

Sorry to hear you aren’t great following your extraction.

I had a coronectomy early pregnancy. The dental surgeons removed the top of an impacted wisdom tooth that was buried into my gum and cheek and left the roots on site with the flap of skin stitched back over, this procedure was brutal and I was in agony for days with infected stitches etc. I’m now 38+5 and baby has been fine following the procedure.

Follow their guidance and keep ok top of paracetamol and you and baby will be fine.
