8 weeks & bleeding

I'm currently 8+2 after ivf but have had a lot of spotting bright red and brown over the last few days. The doctor said my cervix is closed and I'm booked until the early pregnancy unit for a scan next week.
My scan last week was completely norma, heartbeat/measurements etc

Has anyone had similar? And what was the outcome?
How would I know if this is a miscarriage?

@coffeewithmilk hey I don't have the answers for you right now sadly, but to share. I'm currently 8+5 and last week had tiny bits of brown spotting, had a scan Friday which showed baby perfect, strong heartbeat measuring a few days ahead, immediately after the scan I stood up and had a huge bleed, she scanned me again and baby still looked okay, bleedings lasted a few hours then went to brown and has now stopped, I have another scan at the epu this afternoon. X

@Moosh18 it's so worrying isn't it! I hope your scan goes well.

I had brown spotting at 10 weeks just stopped on its own and scan was fine. I always wondered if it was just old bleeding from implatation or from palcenta when it starts to grow.
Sounds very common
my miscarriage few years ago it got redder and more like period dint stop or disappear i was 6 weeks no heartbeats scans prior and it was just an empty sac

Hi, I had bleeding and terrible cramping at 9 weeks, my pregnancy is high risk anyway but it was still a shock and very scary to see that amount of blood and the pain was horrendous. We went to the EPU and they scanned me and we saw a little heartbeat. They gave me progesterone to start taking and sent me home telling me to take paracetamol for the pain and said that if I had more bleeding there wasn’t much I could do.

Thankfully the bleeding did stop after a day but I have not had any further checks as yet, I am 12 weeks today and have my scan on Friday so we are feeling very much in limbo about the outcome and if this little one has held on. I will update you on Friday with my outcome if you’d like me to.

Has your spotting stopped now? Do you have any cramps? I didn’t really have spotting it was just a lot of blood like a heavy period out of nowhere! X

@MrsXx4 I've completely stopped bleeding now and still very symptomatic with nausea and tiredness so I'll take it as a good sign xx

I had the same at 8 weeks. Hes a healthy 15yo now. I went for scans and everything, unfortunately the dr i saw had 0 bedside manner.

Fingers crossed yours is all well too (and you get a nicer dr)

Hi, I am currently 8 weeks pregnant and yesterday afternoon I had some bright red blood in my trousers and when I wiped after the toilet, it looked a bit like the start of a period… I haven’t had anything since then but I am really paranoid. I have a scan booked for Tuesday but can’t stop worrying. Sorry for the pics… has anyone had anything like this? I can’t imagine it’s implantation bleeding as I think it would be too late for that? My morning sickness has also suddenly stopped, but I started taking tablets for that yesterday so I don’t know if it’s related to the tablets or if I am miscarrying?…

@Anonymousssss hey lovely, I had really really heavy bleeding and huge clots and some lighter like yours, it lasted for about three weeks on and off, my baby is two months old today! They said I had a sub chronic hematoma. I really hope all is well for you x

I'm in the same boat, 9w today but yesterday scan was 6w+6d... I saw a little heartbeat, I saw no evidence of blood around embryo (I'm a physician...) but I have a week of bleeding, red, brown, on and off... no pain, no big gush of blood. Doctor said I have cervical ectropion, but didn't said if the bleeding was from inside the uterus or from the cervix. She prescribed me progesterone and sent me a serum progesterone test, it was normal (12.97ng/mL). She asked me to rest, and I'll have another scan in two weeks.
She also couldn't see my right ovary nor a corpus luteum.
I'm totally terrified, I want to cry everytime I see blood when wiping, I don't want to think about it but it seems an impossible task.
Is my first pregnancy and I'm 40.

Thank you for replying, I’m just keeping my fingers crossed, I ended up having a tiny blood clot yesterday but nothing else apart from that… hopefully it’s stopped but I will let you know if there is any more. Hopefully everything is okay with the scan on Tuesday…
