But piles in pregnancy! Any tips?!

Currently 28 weeks pregnant and it's causing me such discomfort for most of the day. Had the same when I was pregnant with my first too.

Pretty sure the pressure of baby on my hips and pelvis are making them worse at the moment, but they're periodically throughout the day becoming external piles that are only relieved when I push them back in (sorry I know that's gross).

What can I do? I have a midwife appointment this week, is it worth mentioning?

I would get advice from your midwife. Anusol has worked well for me in the past but I don’t know if it can be used during pregnancy. Your midwife might be able to offer something better.

Oh I feel you. I am now 31 weeks but had absolutely horrendous thrombosed/bleeding piles at about 20 weeks. They were SO painful. I could barely walk and almost rang into work sick.

I was applying anusol regularly and drinking a LOT of water but honestly, I don’t know if it did anything. They’d stopped being painful after about 10 days, and disappeared after about 3 weeks.

Thank you both! I do have anusol actually. But will still mention it to the midwife.

@Tisfortired I feel the exact same with the walking! Sometimes it hurts so much. And standing. It's been noticably bad since Friday so I'm hoping it calms down soon. As if pregnancy isn't uncomfortable enough :(
