Hi everyone- I've got covid and am 18 weeks pregnant... has made me really worried / concerned it will harm the baby. I've had two miscarriages before and I'm nearly 40 so I'm a nervous wreck anyway... at the moment I've just got a headache and really irritating dry cough. Anyone have any advice? Or can calm me down? Thank you!

I had Covid at 21 weeks, it was unpleasant mainly because I couldn't take any decongestants but baby is absolutely fine. I phoned my doctor to see if there was anything I could take apart from paracetamol and she said no but got me to go for a quick check up in the car park where she gave me some reassurance, checked by breathing and pulse and lent me a pulse oximeter.

Sorry for you previous losses. I also had it at 18 weeks and was assigned a covid midwife for ten days, she just called and checked on me every two days, offered to send me an oximeter and just checked in to see how I was feeling. I kept an eye on my oxygen levels and otherwise carried on as I would if I had a cold. My DD is now 11 weeks old.
