Where (anatomically) did you feel baby’s first movements?

Hello everyone.
16 weeks with my first pregnancy so I’m excited to start feeling baby move! For the past day or so I’ve been feeling little flutters but can’t tell whether it’s the baby or wishful thinking and it’s just digestion. I’ve been feeling it about level with my bellybutton on the left side. Anatomy has never been my strong point but imagined I’d be feeling it lower down? Where abouts would I be feeling first movements? Thank you!

Everyone's different and I'm no expert, so I couldn't say where you're 'supposed' to feel movements. But biologically baby is still going to be very low down in your abdomen at 16 weeks so most movements will probably be low down, lower than the belly button. But those flutters you describe could well be first movements.

My first movements were at 17 weeks and they felt like tiny bubbles popping in my lower left tummy. It was very occasional, maybe once in a day, for about a week before movements really picked up around 18 weeks.

Mine were really low, like just above my pelvic bone. I'm 26 weeks and only recently has he moved up to belly button height! Now his kicks are all over the place, I thought I felt movements at around 15 weeks but now that I have consistent movements I don't know what I was feeling back then... unlike anything I've felt before but totally different to his movements now! I wonder if it was all the other parts moving to accommodate the growing bump?

Anyway, I think the baby is somewhere between your belly button and your pubic bone at 16 weeks so it's not impossible that that's what you're feeling!

Really low down near my bladder area/ pubic bone area!

I’m sorry, your title really made me smile - specifying ‘anatomically’ to stop people replying ‘in Lidl’ etc!

Anyway. First movements felt like bubbles of digestive gas, just above the mons pubis.

In my last pregnancy I felt little flutters in the exact same place you describe. I took me a few days to realise it was the baby!

Ha well I asked my sister (who is prone to dramatics) and she gave me a really long winded tale about being in the garden centre cafe and she almost dropped her tray, so I thought it best to be specific!
