Hi all ,
ive posted may threads on earlier in pregnancy . I have bad health anxiety and just about managed to crawl through first trimester and kept the baby . Second hasn’t been to bad but now I’m 28 weeks and really scared I’m going to die . In this final hurdle , birth or soon after due to complications . I’m under peri natal but nothing is helping . I’ve now had my bloods back from 28 week check and my iron is low 97 I’m petrified this is going to kill me . Sorry for the drama but I’m one scared woman . I’m going to go on tablets and increase my iron intake . I know having covid didn’t help as I couldn’t eat very well . I’m so worried now with the strain .

I had low iron during my pregnancy and had to take a lot of tablets, it was okay, once they kicked in I really did feel better. My iron was 92 when they gave me tablets- baby is here happy and healthy as am I!

Thank you . How long did they take to kick in ? Tbh I don’t feel horrific and any symptoms I’ve had I guess I’ve put down to pregnancy . So although I’m not shocked as I tend to have low Ish iron anyway . I’m terrified

About 3/4 days was a real difference, by the time they retested my iron was right back up- get the strongest ones you can (they taste gross but will be worth it)

I've not seen your other threads but please talk to your midwife if you haven't about how anxious you are. Sending you all the best x

Taking iron can make you on the constipated side so be sure to drink plenty of water and eat lots of fruit and veg, vitamin c can also help you absorb iron so drinking orange juice is good.
Hope you'll be feeling more relaxed soon

I had low iron both pre and post natal, I think it’s quite common. I took iron tablets both “sides” of pregnancy and they made me feel so much better (I’d just put the tiredness down to pregnancy). Have you tried hypnobirthing? Appreciate I know nothing about health anxiety but hypnobirthing helps give you techniques to support pregnancy and labour - could be worth a try. Sending you all the best x
