I'm 16 weeks pregnant with my second baby, my eldest is 4 so it's been nearly 5 years since my last pregnancy. I didn't get a noticable bump for a good while last time but I'm sure I had a little one at 16 weeks - this time I still don't have anything! I'm heavier this time (about 2 stone heavier :( ) so maybe it's because I have a bit more cushioning?? But I'm not huge - about size 12/14 this time. I also thought I was feeling some movement from 14 weeks, little pops. But over the last week I am struggling to feel that so that's worrying me too. I have my 16 week midwife appt at the end of this week, so not much point doing anything any sooner but does anyone have any reassurance? x

I hope you are alright @Elaina87 in my last pregnancy if I ever got worried about not being able to feel baby the midwife used to tell me drink a small amount of sprite and do some small jumps . After that I always felt the little popping movement . ( 16 weeks is also quite early to feel the kicks and it depends on the placement of baby of how strong you feel it ) if you are really worried I would say give your trust a ring and ask them for advise .wishing you lots of luck x

Hey, sorry to hear ur feeling this way.. I was exactly the same at 16 weeks, 2 nd pregnancy, eldest child is 5... My bump came around 20_22 weeks alongside kicks.. Im having the same gender as my first but look smaller...jus want to say its ok and normal.. You can request the midwife to listen to heartbeat at ur appointment 💕

I didn’t feel movement until 18 weeks with both my babies and I didn’t have a bump until nearer 20 weeks with either too so try not to worry. I do remember the 16-20 week part of pregnancy being quite anxiety inducing as my symptoms had lifted yet I didn’t have a bump or movement so I worried like you are.

With my 2nd and 3rd I didn’t have a bump or show until over 25 week. Didn’t feel movement with 2nd pregnancy until 21’weeks due to placenta being anterior and with 3rd it was about 18/19 weeks for feeling movement

very different from dc1 where I felt movement very early and had posterior placenta so saw movement all the time. Although with ds1 I didn’t really show until I was 30+ weeks

Thank you :) It's good to know of others showing later! I have friends who have all shown so early with their 2nd.

Thanks everyone for your reassurance. I had an anterior placenta last time and didn't feel anything until 21 weeks, I didn't expect to feel it this soon this time but now I have I'm getting a bit paranoid! I also expected to have a bump by now going off friends experiences with their 2nd pregnancy. Agree 16 - 20 weeks is an anxious stage looking for signs everything is progressing as it should!
