Am I miscarrying?

Hey. First post, wish it wasn’t about this.

first pregnancy. All seemed fine, had a scan yesterday privately. I thought I was 7w5d, based on the size they said 5w5d. Thought they could detect heartbeat.

Today, just went to the loo. Very light pink discharge/blood and I now have some cramps. I am trying to find reasons for it not to be a miscarriage. I sometimes have this after sex and the scan was transvaginal as it appeared to be too early.

I’m trying to rest and not get too worried but feeling absolutely awful

Am I miscarrying?

How sure are you about ovulation dates? Sometimes people do ovulate late and have spotting that is meaningless in T1. However, unfortunately if you are quite sure about dates, a pregnancy measuring 2 weeks behind + spotting would usually indicate a non viable pregnancy. Wishing you all the best @Newnewland

I agree with pp, depends how sure you are of the dates and what length your cycles usually are. If there’s a chance it could be 5 weeks instead of 7 then it sounds more promising then if it’s likely 7 weeks. Light spotting doesn’t always mean miscarriage, it’s quite common to spot and it all be ok, but it could go either way.

I had spotting, cramping and some big bleeds with all my pregnancies. All of them were fine. It’s stressful, I hope all is ok for you xx

Thank you, it’s good to hear positives.

im pretty certain it’s 7. My cycles tend to be shorter so two weeks just doesn’t make sense
