Hiya
im currently pregnant was completely unexpected I have a 1 year old who was planned. Is it normal to feel so negative about an unexpected pregnancy ? Is this normal? Will it change as time goes on. I just don't know how I feel

Imo its normal. Pregnancy is such a huge deal already so I feel like being unprepared for it is so difficult to deal with. I'm 32 weeks pregnant with my second who was accidental ATM and like you my first was planned, and it's a struggle. Some days I do feel very optimistic about it and there's nice thoughts like seeing how my daughter will bond with the new baby and how similar/different they might be from one another etc. But also I've had to throw away a lot of life plans (I wanted to foster/adopt another not have more of my own!) and this pregnancy has been rough and I do think often that I would be a lot happier in my life right now if I wasn't pregnant. I know I'll be much happier when they're born though it's just being pregnant I'm struggling with. That being said I don't know what your thoughts are right now on continuing the pregnancy, you'll know what's right for you and if you really aren't prepared for another right now there's no shame in whatever you chose. Do you see yourself being happy with another in your family? Would you be able to cope financially, mentally etc?

Thank u for replying. That's exactly the thought I have id be happier if I wasn't pregnant but again I don't know if it's just the pregnancy that's hard and I'd be fine once little one is here. I do believe I'd cope im in a relationship, own home etc I just want this negativity to pass as its so different from my first and it makes me feel guilty 😣

I felt the same, but thankfully you get 9 months to get used to the idea. All was fine, good luck!

I can remember crying my eyes out with my GP. I had a one year old and 12 year old at the time I found out I was pregnant. Both my previous babies had been born prematurely and I was terrified.
DC 3 has been an absolute delight. An easy, sunny lovely one and totally completes our family. Oh and wasn't born prematurely either.
