Empty Sac

Hi

I went for a scan with no problems, no bleeding, no pain just really to check on baby. I should have been 6-7 weeks but they did say the sac was empty and i am looking at a blighted ovum. I go back next week for a rescan but I just cannot get my head around it. I am fine, sore breasts, morning sickness, and no pain! She only did the internal scan for like a minute (nhs too) And I have been told in the past i have a tilted womb (Ididnt even think to tell her). I am young and 'healthy' too so i am just so shocked. Has anyone had this before? Was there a good outcome?

Was it an abdominal scan? Or internal?

it was an internal but it only lasted around a minute, it didnt feel like she properly looked

also i told them the complete wrong dates for my period (worked out i had my period three weeks after i told them) Just they did say my sac was measuring 7 weeks and it was empty though

I've had this with both outcomes.

First time nothing had changed at my rescan so it was blighted ovum and I waited and passed the sac naturally 2 weeks later.

Another pregnancy I went for a scan between 6-7 weeks and they told me they could see a sac measuring 5-6 weeks but nothing inside and it may be too early. I was pretty sure on my dates so thought it was blighted ovum again. They told me to come back in 2 weeks for a rescan. I went to the rescan expecting the worst, but baby was there with a strong heartbeat and matching up with my original dates.

Keep an open mind- at this stage the baby is so so tiny so it's really hard to see. I have a tilted uterus too which makes scans hard. I have my fingers crossed for a positive outcome for you!
