I had a stretch and sweep at 11am. I’m 40+2 with mechanical induction due Sunday due to previous c-section.

It went fine only cramped at the end and then she removed her fingers. In her gloves she had my mucus plug, she said it was very successful and all going in the right direction, baby low and cervix soft but still pointing back.

Ive had a bit of bleeding with clear stringy mucus in it. My stomach is rock hard and crampy now for the last few hours with intermittent extra cramps that slightly take away breath. I’m sat in the bath but it’s not releasing the cramping, my stomach is just constantly hard and period pains at the bottom.

Could this be labour starting or just irritated from the sweep? I always thought that in between contractions stomach would release and not feel tight. I’ve no idea about vaginal labour as I had a c-section 6 years ago due to being breech, that was elected at 39 weeks.

Sounds unusual. I would try some paracetamol and if no better in 20 mins then call labour ward to get some advice from a midwife?
