I have recently been diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum and I cannot cope. This is like torture I can't eat or drink I'm sleeping 13 hours and still waking up with no energy the tables don't work. I've vomited 8 times today and it's not even 4pm😢 I can't even think about food without heaving. This is horrible

OP, having been through it twice myself you have my wholehearted sympathy. There used to be an amazing HG support thread on here, run by @LucindaE though I'm not sure if it's still going. Maybe take a look at the Pregnancy Chat boards?

What medication are you on? The only thing that helped me at all was Ondansetron.

I was also diagnosed 4 weeks ago with HG. I'm coming up to 9 weeks and it has been dreadful. I am with you and I am feeling for you. I never imagined feeling like this its like a never ending nightmare. Its hard to get medical help from some people. I really hope you come across a sympathetic doc! Mine told me to try and help myself and sip water!! I just cried and cried. HG isn't understood by so many people. It's heartbreaking and so disappointing. Check out HER foundation. I found some information on there that has been helpful. Sending love and big hugs xxx

I'm so sorry that you are going through this - be firm with the doctors. I was told that as I wasn't at risk of being underweight it wasn't a problem. Without wishing to scare you DD is currently in hospital having spinal surgery as a result of spina bifida occulta - I could keep nothing down including folic acid tabs......

I’m sorry you’ve got this. I’m towards the end of my 3rd trimester in an HG pregnancy and it is so hard. Pregnancy Sickness Support have been amazing - get in touch with them ASAP. They have volunteer supporters who have had HG themselves and their messages kept me going in the dark days. Keep going back to the hospital if you’re struggling, don’t let them fob you off with just ketone measures - you need to be properly clinically assessed for your hydration status. Ask for dietitian referral early.
