Hi all

I'm on my third pregnancy and struggling to feel any movements. I think I've felt a couple of things but I know with my previous two pregnancies I had felt lots more movements by this stage.

I have my 20 week scan on the 21st. Just wondering if I should book a private. Seems so long to wait. Although will two scans in less than two weeks harm the baby?

Everything is a worry!!

No two pregnancies are the same and a lot of people wouldn't feel baby movements this early. I didn't feel many movements at all during my 2nd pregnancy, because of where the placenta was located. But, if you're worried, contact your midwife, they may be able to move the scan forward. Or if it would put your mind at ease, book a private scan. There's no risk to having more ultrasounds than the norm.

You might have an anterior placenta this time which cushions movements. I have one and I started feeling flutters around week 19 and loads more movement/kicks from week 22. Movements are likely to be felt on your sides at first as the central area will be covered by the placenta
