One sided pain 4-5 weeks

I am between 4-5 weeks pregnant which is early I realise.

i haven’t had many symptoms other than a metallic taste in my mouth, and an ache in my lower back (which is something I always get during my period). I have been getting a cramping feeling in my right side - I initially thought period pain but then a pregnancy test was positive. It’s been on and off for around 2 weeks. It feels almost like a stretching feeling in my right side low towards my groin.
i have had no bleeding/spotting and it isn’t particularly painful but it comes and goes throughout the day and definitely noticeably only on my right side.

is this something to be concerned about or is it likely to just be growth pains? It isn’t painful but im concerned that it’s only on one side.

Sorry I mean on and off for around 1 week - not 2!

I had lots of right sided mild pain and stretching feeling throughout my first trimester. Nothing on my left side.

Do you have any shoulder pain? Not to alarm you but I had pain in my left side and in my shoulder (can’t remember which one), it is a classic sign of an ectopic pregnancy.
If the pain persists see if you can get an appointment at the early pregnancy unit, or talk to your GP/ midwife.
it’s probably not that though as the chances are literally 100:1. Just mentioning the shoulder pain in case that were to happen and you didn’t connect the two.
Good luck.

It could also be a cyst on the ovulating ovary which can ache if it gets big!

I had this too in the first weeks and was so worried.
All was well for me and it was an easy pregnancy!

Twingy, pulling or tugging feelings are normal. If sharp pain or shoulder pain contact EPU. I was scanned at 5 weeks at EPU due to sharp pains (turned out to be gas 😳😳😳) and they'd always rather check than risk ectopic

Thank you for all the messages. I haven’t had any shoulder pain but will keep monitoring. I’m not sure if I was just over thinking as today I haven’t noticed it at all! So hard to know what is normal and what isnt!

Good to hear it’s subsided. Probably just normal settling in! Good luck OP.
