Induced labour

Hi all,
Does anyone have any experience of induced labour? I have been told that my consultant will give me a sweep at 38 weeks to try to start labour, another at 39 weeks if the first doesn't work, I'm not really expecting them to work from what I've read. If neither work my consultant wants to induce labour at 40 weeks, because of my age she said it's a higher chance of still birth if I go over my due date so she doesn't want me to go over. I've had one natural labour and one C-section previously.
Just wondered if anyone has any experience of induction good or bad. Would rather be prepared for the reality. Thank you

You hear a lot of horror stories with inductions but mine was fine. I was induced at 38 weeks.
I have the ballon put in 10pm Wednesday evening, had it removed and my waters manually broken at 2pm Thursday afternoon, and my baby was born 2am Friday morning. Everything went fairly smoothly, no complimentary other than a few stitches needed. We went home later that evening. Best of luck

I've been induced twice (2nd and 3rd babies) at 37+5 and 38+4 and both were fine and progressed quickly once my waters were broken.

Good luck OP! You'll be fine 😊

I was induced at 38 weeks with gels and my waters broke a few hours after. At one point I opted for an epidural as they thought I wasn't progressing and might need to offer syntocinon, which is stronger but supposedly more painful, but by then I was 10cm dilated and everything happened very quickly! All in all baby born a day after I was admitted. Wishing you all the best ❤️
