Fever during pregnancy - would this harm the baby?

Just seeking some reassurance here as I am sure plenty other women have had colds during pregnancy. I am 14 weeks and came down with a cold on Saturday which turned into a fever (not covid). The fever only lasted for about 6 hours although I am still feeling terrible and coughing constantly. I am worried the high temperature I had would harm the baby, thinking whether to call midwife but again my temperature already dropped so sure they will just ask me to rest.

Call the midwife to reassure yourself. But I'm sure all will be fine now, especially as your fever has dropped. I had a terrible cold and high fever in my last pregnancy when I was about 30 weeks along, also developed sepsis. Baby was absolutely fine
