4d scan pics, disappointed

Second time I went back today and the baby is being so stubborn she's had her arm in her face covering it both times I've been now! 😂 I hoped they would have told me to come back again but instead they've gave me kinda crap photos lol. Anyone else disappointed in their 4d scan pics? Also if you have any please feel free to post as I love seeing baby scan pics! :) also did your baby look anything like their 4d pics when they were born?

With my 3rd pregnancy I didn't have 1 good scan photos.
Including the private scan and 4D I also had extra scans later on and the techs were so lovely and tried every time to get a good image.

My placenta was at the front so this may have contributed

But every image looked deformed and like I was birthing something out of a Stephen King Horror

She was born standard looking though.

We had two 4d scans in my first pregnancy because I was having a shit time during covid lockdowns and losing my job and it brought me some joy to go and see my baby. The first scan was of a cherubic angel, the baby yawned and smiled and it was blissful. The second scan a week later was of a fucking behemoth who looked like it had eaten the cherub from the week before and was looking for more. It had the grumpiest face I've ever seen on a baby.

We didn't have any 4d scans with this pregnancy, poor second baby

We got 4D scans as part of a package when we had our private anomaly scan, she looks like a piece of chewed chewing gum 😂

I’m now 30wks and contemplating one last scan to get us through the remaining weeks, but wouldn’t hold out home of having a cute 4D image still as she ALWAYS covers her face with her hands when we have a scan!

We had a 4D scan with my DD. It was very clear, she looked like her dad, but also like a lasagne.

@PointyMcguire hahahaha that made me giggle. I felt bad for thinking the pics were just horrible but now I'm guessing it's probably just because of how the 4d scan looks🤣
Some angels were cute from what I seen but mine was the same she just wouldn't budge her arm at all! So frustrating we tried everything lol every single scan she's had her arm covering her face must just be really comfy for them lol. Congrats on your pregnancy not long to go now!! Bet you're excited to meet your little girl!

@MyEasterEggs I can't tell who mine looks like more I just know she's deffo got dads lips lol and hahahaha they do look all squished and weird in the 4d scans definitely won't be getting them done again!😂

@addler love this reply😂😂 I bet it was lovely seeing him/her smiling. I got a little pout on my one lol and then just moody. They're so nice to see as it does give u a vision on what they're going to look like but god the faces they pull!😂

I expect I could google this, but I've always wondered what 4d is for scan pictures.
Surely a) pictures are only 2 dimensional and b) even if a picture looks non-flat that would only get up to 3D? What's the 4th (or is it actually a video that you get?)

@TeenDivided yes you can get a little movie. You watch them move on screen. I’d do it again but it did make us laugh. As soon as the sonographer zoomed in all I could see was my OHs nose which is quite distinct but thankfully looked very cute on little one 😂

Many moons ago when I was expecting my eldest and suffering with hyperemesis we went for a 4D scan. Dd performed and danced around and put on quite the show for us. Pictures were so good they used one in their new advertising booklet. A few years later dd2 would not cooperate on two occasions and we had to go back a third time. Hand over the face at all times, facing away etc. funnily enough, their scans were a complete indication of what was to come as dd1 is a born performer and dd2 is absolutely not!
