How heavy was your baby at the 20 week scan?

Had my scan yesterday at 21+3 weeks. Baby weighed 300g and Dr said that was fine for 21/22 weeks. Now on doing some research(the internet is a very bad place) it sounds small to me. Am I worrying over nothing?

BTW I have 2 boys who weighed 8lb13oz and 8lb3oz at birth so I'm used to big babies.

Thanks

didn't get to find out weight just abdomen, head and leg measurements. How can they know its weight, surely it's just a guess? WEre the other measurements average?

How on earth can they tell that??
I am sure all is fine if the doc says so. Not sure you will get much response from UK mums though as they don't weigh the baby for us at scans.

I think they must use the measurements to work it out. The only one I can decipher from my notes is femur length and that was 39. The other abbreviations are (In German) bipar Schaedel, which was 52 and thorako-abdom which was 47.

Our hospital had a phase of telling mums the baby's weight at about 35 weeks, first timers told they were in the 9 1/2lbs and going into labour terrified, then having a 7lb 10 baby etc.
They've stopped that now! They just weigh em when they come out

dd3 was estimated at weighing 4.6lbs at 32 week scan and she was 8lb11oz when born.

Deb - Can you compare it with your other babies notes? Seriously I would not worry at all. It can only be an educated estimate. If your doc is happy then so should you be .

I thought 8-8.5lb was normal weight for a baby now!

my baby's femur length at 20 weeks was 37mm which according to my chart and the sonographer is on the high end of normal. Sounds like your baby's leg is very similar, so perfectly normal I think. Hey I wouldn't worry, I'm sure if they had any worries about your baby's size they would have requested another scan soonish anyway

Deb - any ultrasound measurement has a large margin for error. Don't worry about it. Besides which babies don't grow in a linear way or according to some prescribed chart.
