Struggling to switch off tonight so just wondered if anybody has any experiences to share or tips about having 2 children with a 3 year age gap.

DS1 will be 3 in Feb, around the same time DS2 will be born. I cannot wait ❤️

Would love to hear from others with a similar or same age gap! X

Hi ,, DS 1 and DS3 have 3 years and 2 weeks ago gap ( yes I have another in-between them !)

They have and always had a lovely relationship.

They are late teens/early adult now .. but still go out together and do things that doesn't include pubs and drinking !

Ds1 and DS2 go out and have a good relationship.

DS2 and DS3 ...well are different !!

Age gap doesn't matter ...it is personally that counts.

Enjoy your babies 💞

Ohh and all 3 enjoyed the same things at the same time sort of thing .

I have a 8 week old and a 3 year old. So far so good! She loves mothering her little sister, checking she is ok and taking to her and reading stories. She was a little heavy handed the first week but soon calmed down once the excitement is over. This age gap is ideal for us.

3 year age gap, 2 teens. Close enough to get on really well, far enough apart not to fight.

And was great to only have 1 in nappies at a time iirc

I have three years almost exactly. Really lovely gap - DS dotes on DD and she adores him.

Thank you all! You have made me feel even more excited than I already felt for DS2 to arrive. Can't wait for DS1 to have a little best friend for life!

No pressure then! They might be very different characters and not want to be best friends...🙄

I think three years is a lovely gap, older one at nursery or preschool so time with the baby. Close enough to want to do similar sorts of things for days out etc. And the big plus (as opposed to a two year gap) is not doing exams at the same time when they are older!

@Baguette2021 thanks for the input 👍🏽

My boys are almost 3 years apart (now 10 and 7) and have a lovely bond.

I have two children with a 2year 9 month gap and they get on really well, a lovely relationship and enjoy playing together. They're 8 and almost 11 now. It was a great gap because my oldest child was able to understand why the baby needed attention etc and was out of nappies and walking everywhere.

I'm due early Jan when my son will have just turned 3, so will be navigating the same age gap! Cannot imagine loving anyone as much as my little boy though! Confused

Mine are 7 and 10. They play together and fight together a lot! I found the age gap worked really well for us.

I grew up as the elder sibling with a 3 year gap between me and my brother. It was great and we were very close.

Thank you all! I am definitely wanting my toddler to be out of nappies by feb, we're almost there but not quite!

Congratulations @Kindofcrunchy hope you are keeping well? I feel the same about my little boy. But cannot WAIT for him to meet the little baby. One of the moments I am looking forward to the most ❤️
