@CandyFloss5421 glad you have made a thread on this as i too am on my 4th baby and have been wondering the exact same thing & was going to create a thread myself but don't have too now 😂 x

CandyFloss5421 · 04/11/2022 19:21

@TeamBluex4 aw congrats! As my due date is getting closer it’s making me start to wonder! Concerned about getting to the hospital! Haha x

My 4th baby was quick, very straightforward. Homebirth in birth pool. 4 hours from start to finish. No pain relief, no tears/stitches. Recovery has been great.

Baby was 5 days late… (sorry!)

Beat of luck! I loved my 4th birth!

Pumpkinpatchlookinggood · 04/11/2022 19:29

4th Labour was under 3 hours exactly the same as 2 and 3!!
Week early at 7.10.

CandyFloss5421 · 04/11/2022 19:45

4 hours! That does seem fast. Did you have any signs before hand? Thank you! Hoping this time not late my third was 12 days over!

3 hours! @Pumpkinpatchlookinggood Wow! Did you go straight to hospital?

McConkeysPlate · 04/11/2022 20:33

2 weeks late and induced. I went from 3 cm to delivered in less than 5 minutes. It was great!

Pumpkinpatchlookinggood · 04/11/2022 20:47

Made it to hospital which was an hour away!
Dc number 6 was in 2 hours. That was a close call. Still had dress and shoes on!!

MissSmiley · 04/11/2022 22:16

My fourth labour (fifth baby) came in less than 4 hours, on her due date, my second was the fastest, about 90 minutes. First one was about 5 hours, third doesn't count as it was twins.

summergone · 04/11/2022 22:24

4 hours , but was induced as was 2 weeks late .

BurningBenches · 04/11/2022 22:34

My 4th was induced on my due date due to size but I expect he would have been induced at 41/2 weeks like his 4 siblings.
As he was "early" for me he actually took a bit of time and needed the drip. But once on it was a 4hr labour.

3 and 5 were induced at 42wks and 41wks respectively and were 2hr labours. They broke my waters and I was in full blown labour. Also home very quickly after 2,4 and 5, which was lovely.

Had I been lucky enough to go spontaneously into labour I think 3, 4 and 5 would have been born at home or in the car.

Myeyeballsareonfire · 05/11/2022 08:30

@CandyFloss5421 yes I knew I’d have the baby that night. I’d had a bit of a show earlier that day, so blew up the pool and prepared the room, tidied up in preparation for midwives etc.

Went to bed early as I had a feeling it would be soon, and was right!

My only frustration with my 4th pregnancy, was convincing myself I’d ‘go’ early. I was a bit of a mess from 38-40 weeks. I was much better once my due date actually passed and I knew I wouldn’t go early, so don’t be like me 🤣

SmartCar · 05/11/2022 08:33

Following due my 4th in Jan. My last baby was only an hour.

Hoping for a speedy delivery this time round too

CandyFloss5421 · 05/11/2022 16:46

@Myeyeballsareonfire I’m due in 2 weeks and this is literally me! Everyday I keep wondering is it going to be today!

CandyFloss5421 · 05/11/2022 16:48

@SmartCar Wow! Would you say the pain is more intense as faster ?

CandyFloss5421 · 05/11/2022 16:50

@BurningBenches thank you for your reply! This is also my fear giving birth in the car our hospital is a hour with no traffic!

Mine were all late, all induced, all unassisted deliveries though.

4th - they booked me in for induction at 42 weeks at my 16 week consultant appointment.

Took 2 pessaries to get things starting to happen. They persuaded me to have bath which I didn't find helpful.

Got out the bath walked over to the delivery suite at my waters broke. As I got onto the bed on my hands and knees they had a look and went oh 8cm, crowned, here so labour was officially 1 minute 🤣

KennAdams · 05/11/2022 18:12

My DD3 was about 40 minutes but I had been walking around for a few days at 4cm so was ever likely to be quick I think.

She nearly came out in the corridor but was ushered in to the nearest free room.

That 40 minutes included getting to the hospital too. Glad I didn't get in the bath I tried to run 🤣

I'm currently pregnant with DC4 and am having an elected section this time round. Just hope I don't go before then because chances are they'd just fly out 🤣

CandyFloss5421 · 20/11/2022 21:05

@RandomMess @KennAdams thank you both for your replies! Wow that is very quick!

4th baby was about 6 hours, 40+4. The last few hours of that was transition because he was posterior and born sunny side up. Homebirth, because baby #3 (40+3) had been less than 3hrs from first twinge and we nearly didn't make it to hospital. I think if he'd been positioned properly it would've been around 3hrs like #3.

Then

Thelonelychicken · 21/11/2022 23:25

There was no time to get used to pains but it was over so quickly that I didn't feel like it was more painful. I wasn't knackered either. Was up and happily walking about half hour later. I had gas and air to take the edge off. He was my biggest baby too at 8lb 2oz. Wishing you luck

Thelonelychicken · 21/11/2022 23:26

Sorry name change fail 🤣

CandyFloss5421 · 22/11/2022 17:25

@Thelonelychicken
thank you for your reply! My waters broke today so I’m now just waiting! Had no contractions yet but fingers crossed!
