Feeling cold all the time

I know it's getting colder in general at the moment but is it common to be "feeling it" more than usual at 16 weeks pregnant? Or am I just being a wuss? 😂 My teeth chatter and I shiver; we can afford to have the heating on, thankfully, but we only have it on for a couple of select hours of the day... maybe I just need to get up and get moving some more - perhaps I'm just feeling particularly cold when I'm sat still for a while. Anyway - if anyone else who is/has been pregnant and really felt super cold, more than usual, let me know 😅

This is kind of me, I feel like my feet are freezing at night 🥶

On a serious note, you could ask for a Thyroid function test with your midwife.. feeling constantly cold can be due to underactive thyroid and if that's the case, it is very important that it is corrected!

Yes! My first pregnancy symptom was being really shivvery and cold, and it was mid summer and 30+ degrees. I never got that thing of feeling warmer that pregnancy is supposed to bring. Some people have suggested it's an iron thing but I don't know. I run cold generally though

Being absolutely freezing during pregnancy was really my only symptom. I always had a hot water bottle to hand and found the heat packs that you shake to activate really useful too. All blood tests proved normal. Just one of those things. Happened in both pregnancies.

Freezing in early pregnancy and boiling in later pregnancy was how it went for me.

I was very shivery in early/mid pregnancy - and it was in summer, so definitely not cold. I felt like I was getting a fever quite often. It went by the third trimester for me.

I was like this in my second pregnancy! Both of mine were Spring babies, so seemed logical to think the extra weight/blood/whatever would keep me comfortably warm through the winter and I wouldn't have to contend with being uncomfortable in the summer heat. Worked a dream with DC1. DC2 I was always cold...

I’m so glad it’s not just me… I will double check for thyroid with doctors but I’ve been tested many times in the past and it’s always come back clear; but you never know!

It’s so reassuring when other people have felt the same, even for something as innocuous as feeling cold. Thank you everyone for responding 🥰
