I may be worrying over nothing but I’m currently 11 weeks and 5 days pregnant with twins and I dropped my phone on my stomach. It’s a I phone 14 so pretty heavy.

I don’t want to bother my doctors with this incase they think it’s daft but it’s my second pregnancy after a heart breaking miscarriage.

will my babies be ok?

TIA xx

Yes, they're really well cushioned in there, especially at such early gestation. My friend was in a car accident in her first trimester and she and the baby were absolutely fine

HelpfulJane · 04/11/2022 11:34

You’re babies 👶👶 Will be fine..😃

Trust those little ones will hang on for dear life..

Now take good care of yourself ok..👌

TeaAndJaffacakes · 04/11/2022 11:35

Dropping a phone on your stomach will have had zero impact on your baby. You can stop worrying about this one.

RambamThankyouMam · 04/11/2022 11:41

Oh come on.

Don't be ridiculous!

CSR721 · 04/11/2022 11:42

I do this probably once a day 😂😂 they'll be fine x

HotCoffee22 · 04/11/2022 11:43

I’m surprised my first didn’t come out with paw prints and my second with toddler prints plus paw prints. Your babies are well protected.

talkytalktalk · 04/11/2022 11:44

They'll be absolutely fine they are really cushioned in there you'd need to have hit your stomach with some force for it to have done anything. I have a three year old who jumps all over me all the time baby is absolutely fine.

A little empathy would be kind here.

have you ever been pregnant with twins after fertility issues or miscarriage?

even if you haven’t, surely you can understand the OP’s anxiety.

OP you’ll be fine, I have twins conceived after severe issues and I remember how anxious I was before the 12 week scan. Take care of yourself.

rickandmorts · 04/11/2022 11:49

Your babies will be fine. I got pawed in the stomach at 16 weeks pregnant by a horse and my midwife assured me at that stage there's still loads of fluid surrounding them and protecting them.

AlwaysFoldingWashing · 04/11/2022 11:49

I am ridiculously clumsy and was forever dropping things on my bump but babies are well cushioned and will be absolutely fine. They'll be giving you lots of knocks back before long 😂 congrats on your babies

mikado1 · 04/11/2022 11:51

The best built airbag in the world ♥ They'll be fine. Congratulations..I remember worrying at a similar stage when my 2.5yo climbed on for a cuddle.

Kcd1984 · 04/11/2022 11:53

Thanks all for your kind replies 🥰 it’s nice to have some reassurance. Xx

This is going to be a very long 9 months...

Dyra · 04/11/2022 12:39

They'll be absolutely fine. Protected by several layers of you, then all the fluid that surrounds them? Probably barely felt a ripple.

Having dropped my phone on one on the outside (sorry DC2) can confirm they're just as fine, but vastly more vocal about it.

Herejustforthisone · 04/11/2022 13:31

Seriously? It’ll be fine. If you’d dropped a kettlebell on yourself I might suggest calling the hospital but a phone? Really?

They’re remarkably well protected in there. I skied, ran, kick boxed, lifted weights, and horse rode and nothing dislodged them. An iPhone is not going to do you or them any damage.

Kanaloa · 04/11/2022 13:34

I’m sorry about your previous loss - it can really colour your feelings about later pregnancies, can’t it?

For what it’s worth, my youngest daughter is the youngest of four, and more than once my older kids bounced all over me when she was in there. I think that’s why she was born so hard headed and wild! But it never did her a bit of harm.

SheWoreYellow · 04/11/2022 13:37

Wait till you drop it on your baby’s head 😀

As others have said, baby bumps survive being climbed over by toddlers etc.

Really unnecessary and unkind.

toor · 04/11/2022 16:25

@Snoopsnoggysnog true though

BarbieQueue · 04/11/2022 22:13

Yes, your little one will be absolutely fine! My 5 year old run and jumped on my bed to give me a cuddle one morning.. his knee connected with my stomach 😰it put the absolute fear of god in me.. but the little one growing in my stomach is absolutely fine.

as others have said, they are super protected in there. A drop of an iPhone will not hurt or harm the baby in anyway 😊
