Canesten applicator

Hi

My midwife advised using a canesten pessary because antibiotics for a UTI cause me to get thrush. She didn't advise not to use the applicator and in the instructions it says the doctor may advise you not to use the applicator. I used the applicator and didn't even think, until I looked online after and loads of places say you should use your fingers and not the applicator. Should I be worried?

I had constant thrush during my first pregnancy and used a lot of the pessaries. I always used the applicator without an issue until perhaps toward the end of the third trimester when the pharmacist suggested I insert it with my fingers to avoid pushing it too far and potentially triggering labour.

I used the applicator whilst pregnant, all was fine.

Thank you ladies for the reassurance!!! I am 24 weeks now so fingers crossed I won't get it again but if I do in the third trimester I will insert with my fingers.
