Didn't know I was pregnant! Maybe Ectopic, Help?

Hi Mums,

Nervous of ectopic.

So I had an interesting day. It started off with light cramping and I thought nothing of it. I thought maybe it was ovulation. My last period was Oct 20 and it was normal. Lasted 5 days or so. I should be ovulating right now (11/2). Anyway, I went on about my day with this cramping at work and suddenly it got INTENSE and radiated DOWN my right leg. Intense right side cramping. Thought it had to have been appendicitis. I leave work and go to a walk in clinic. They do minor physical tests for appendicitis and I pass with flying colors. Not appendicitis.

This is where it gets interesting. They ask for a urine sample. I go in and do so and there's a little tinge of blood, so I think "did I just get my period 15 days early???" I tell the doctor and she asks if there's a chance I'm pregnant. I say no, because again. It's CD 14 and I had a period Oct 20...After I bled a tiny bit and peed, the pain went away completely.

Turns out I am pregnant! ... She has me go to the ER because if I'm bleeding, she thinks possible ectopic. I get blood work done in ER and HCG levels are 98. The ultrasound showed fluid and the dr said it's either a ruptured ovarian cyst and that's the fluid or...blood from an ectopic...which is terrifying. He said if I get extreme pain again or get dizzy, to come in ASAP, immediately. I have an appt for Friday for repeat HCG test. I still have like minor pain...on my right side like a little higher now...Idk. I guess I just need to vent. And pick other peoples' minds. I appreciate any input. Thank you.

So sorry you're going through this. Even though I read on the internet that ectopic can rupture even at low levels, a doctor told me that internal bleeding caused by ectopic could not happen at levels lower than 500.

Even so, I am surprised they sent you home like this if there's suspicion of internal bleeding. I would say, if you experience any pain, to go immediately.

Take care. Hope it's just a scare, and all is fine.

@Tryingagain01 just want to mention your doctor wasn't right on that. I had HCG of 390 and internal bleeding. Not a rupture, but blood leaking into by abdomen. I don't mean to worry anyone, the bleeding wasn't causing me any pain even and I'm all ok 3 weeks on, but thought I'd just add this note in case anyone comes across the thread looking for advice in the future. Definitely worth insisting on a scan even if your HCG is low as the sonographer COULD see my ectopic and bleeding even though my GP had said they wouldn't be able to see anything. I had surgery same day as the scan.

I'm sorry I didn't see your post at the time OP, v similar story here, I had a period and then found out I was pregnant. Hope you're ok now and didn't have to have surgery.
