Undercooked steak pregnant?

So I’ve literally been rushing around this evening - I made a steak and it was well done on the outside but as I had the light on it, it looked slightly pink…
I do my steak in the oven for 30minutes normally it’s fine however I’m unsure if it was the lightening or it was infact pink… will this harm baby??

If you haven’t eaten it pop it back in for another 15 minutes. If you have eaten it, try not to worry, 30 mins should be enough to heat it through and kill any bugs even if it was a bit pink.

I ate half before freaking myself out completely… I’m very worried now

Slightly pink would be fine
It's more an issue with foods like burgers as the meat has been minced and more chance of contamination

Firsttimemum27weeks · 02/11/2022 21:03

Am I overreacting or is this pink?🥲🥲

I really wouldn't be worrying about pink steak

CraigDavid · 02/11/2022 21:04

If you've had a steak in a hot oven for 30 minutes it will be cooked through, try not to worry.

dementedpixie · 02/11/2022 21:04

I don't see a picture

Rare steak is absolutely fine to eat Duirng pregnancy. It's rare mince that is more dangerous like steak tar tar.

The risk with uncooked meat is toxoplasmosis which is rare. Try not to worry!

CraigDavid · 02/11/2022 21:06

That looks perfectly cooked OP

Strokethefurrywall · 02/11/2022 21:06

I only ever ate medium steaks during pregnancy, you will be fine! That's not even pink so please don't panic...

Firsttimemum27weeks · 02/11/2022 21:06

You guys are amazing thank you, honestly I’ve had the worst day and only now was able to eat dinner! I could cry honestly time for bed I think!🥹

you really will be fine! Like a PP said, the risk is far greater with minced meat which can come from varied sources and mingles any baddies all through the product. A solid piece of meat like beef is unlikely to have toxoplasmosis in it.

dementedpixie · 02/11/2022 21:28

Your steak is not rare. You'll be fine
