Early Scan at 5 week 3 days

Hey all!

So I'm due an early scan tomorrow to check everything is OK after a few days of on and off spotting and was wondering if people at a similar stage that went through this wpuld share your experience and if you would be happy to share any scan pics just so I know what to expect ?

@Pcosfighter67 I went to the EPU after bleeding and pain to rule out ectopic. Are you going to the EPU?
Expect to see little to nothing and to be told to go back 1 or 2 weeks later. I went and was dated 5w6d (thought I was closer to 7 but wasn’t) and there was no HB but a 2mm fetal pole. The gynaecologist couldn’t tell me whether it would be a miscarriage or not and was a wait and see situation. luckily I went back a week later with a HB and LO is now 14 months. I’m pregnant again (v.early) and even if I spot I will not be getting a scan until I’m nearly 7/8 weeks unless of course I’m in pain etc as I cannot go through a week waiting game.

No experience that early but wanted to wish you luck for your scan tomorrow, hope all is well x

Hi I didn't experience any bleeding but had to have an early scan as I've had a previous ectopic pregnancy. Didn't see much on scan at all as I was only 6w 3d. Hope all is okay at your scan.

Thank you guys, my dates are pretty exact because it's an IVF pregnancy taken us 6 years to get here I have another scan already booked for the 16th November with the IVF clinic for early viability but the doctor just wanted to check everything was OK so organised the appointment at EPU.

I had a scan as they needed to confirm dates. I was 5weeks 2 days and all they could confirm was that I was pregnant and it was in the right place.

Hi all just an update for you all!
I had realised I hadn't opened my app for a few days so didn't click that days had moved on 🤣 don't ask its been a stressful few day!
So I am exactly 5 weeks and 6 days and measuring perfectly and we were even lucky enough to see a little flickering heartbeat 🥰 no obvious cause for the bleeding, no free fluid or anything so it literally could be anything from the meds I'm on to pregnancy hormones!

Did you have any cramps with your spotting?

Not really nothing I wasn't already experiencing and what is considered normal, like very mild period cramps and pulling tugging type cramps.
It is good to note that I was getting lots of cramping and some pain on my left tube side and it's being cause by the corpeus luteum so if you experience that and you know what side you ovulated or retrieved off that may well be the cause :)
