I am 14w 3d today and I received my blood results from my 12 week appointment, they have come back high risk of downs edwards' and Pataus' it also showed Low PAPP-A.
My scan seemed fine baby was measuring 12w5d NT 1.6mm.

I am literally going out of my mind googling at reading different things and nothing seems positive.
I've got to go back this Friday for NIPT testing. Has anyone else gone through this ?

My tests came back with high risk for Down's. Did they give you a number? I think I was something like 1 in 78. It was a nail-biting time waiting for the result of the NIPT, but that showed no sign of Down's.
My heart goes out to you OP. I hope you've got lots of support x

I personally haven't but the mother of a student I teach told me the other day that her test also came back high risk for all with both of her children. Both were born fine in the end though! She said her sister also came back high risk and both hers were fine too. I am currently 9 weeks pregnant with no2 so haven't had the test for the second yet!

Is this your first child?

Hello op,
Bless you, this is so hard to go through. I don't have the same experience but I do have low papp a. There's a great low papp - a Facebook group where lots of the others members also have high risk for Edwards and Pateaus, and have been for the nipt testing. There are lots of very reassuring stories there which you might find helpful.

This is my 4th pregnancy, last three were all miscarriages, I've never made it this far in pregnancy before all my others ended before 8weeks

How awful. I really feel for you. I would say 1 in 28 is still unlikely though! My OH's mother's first child had Edwards and they told her at 18 weeks. They said it was very, very rare and an anomaly. I'd absolutely take my chances with 1 in 28! Easy to say, but try not to worry too much! And you will have more of an accurate idea after the NIPT testing. Sending big hugs xx

I know someone who had a baby with edwards. This was picked up on at the 12w scan and was apparently fairly obvious to the sonographer (who didn’t say anything concrete without diagnostic testing). But they did know this from the scan itself, not including the bloods.

I also know someone who had 1 in 4 chance of doesn’t syndrome and she had her lovely son who has Down’s syndrome. She didn’t have diagnostic testing, but a totally personal choice.

Your odds are still very in your favour. It must be a very stressful time, thinking of you. X

I did years ago and my baby was fine (had amniocentesis but not sure how much that is used now) but I still remember how bloody awful it was. My heart goes out to you x

My sister had a 1 in 11 chance of downs, harmony test was all clear baby was born healthy no problems. Fingers crossed for you OP it must be a very difficult time x
