Hiya,

I had an emergency c sec with my first child 2 years ago, so for this pregnancy Im consultant led. My appointment to discuss delivery method is at 36 weeks, I feel this is far late in pregnancy to be given information and not long to make an informed decision. Is this normal to have the appointment so late in pregnancy?

Thanks
Hannah

That does seem late. You could rightfully go into labour before that - only a week before full term.

I'm in the same situation and had my consultant phone at 27 weeks.

Yes 36w was my experience too to confirm my choice with consultant. I opted for planned section (like you, 1st was emergency section). There had been previous discussions though with midwife (at various check-ups) and consultant regarding options and risks so I had time to consider. At the 36w appointment I confirmed and chose the birth-date. Now having a 3rd, and again I have a 36w appointment to confirm section (not really a choice 3rd time round!).
