..do I avoid at all costs? I read something online saying a tummy bug is unlikely to cause a miscarriage. I'm just nervous to become unwell as I already have a cough that's been hanging around for 2 weeks (not covid) - anyone been unwell in 1st trimester? Xxx

I'd want to avoid a sickness bug pregnant or not pregnant!! 😄

At 6 weeks the baby isn't really 'plumbed in' to you yet. Gastrointestinal type illnesses shouldn't really cause an issue but a high temperature could.

Practice good hygiene and you shouldn't catch it.

Note I'm not a medical practitioner, this is what i was told early on in my pregnancy.

I had a chest infection and then stomach bug a few weeks later

Sent that too early, sorry. Doctor said not to worry unless I had a very high temperature.

Best avoid as you'd be really miserable if you caught it.

I found out I had covid the same day I found out I was pregnant then a sickness bug a few weeks later. I’m currently 19+2 and we’re doing fine 🙂

Thanks all, that's good to know. So far so good and I'm feeling alright so fingers crossed I can avoid it 🤞🤞🤞
