Told I was infertile - bfp?

I was told last year that I would only be able to conceive via ivf and fertility drugs. I am in my mid 20s. I’m 3 days late and took a FRER with my afternoon urine. I haven’t told my boyfriend yet as my mind is whirring. We’ve been together for years and thought I’d never get pregnant. We only had sex once this month. Is this definitely a bfp?

Yep, that's positive ! Congratulations !

urrrgh46 · 30/10/2022 15:03

That is most certainly positive! I hope it's a very happy positive for you and your boyfriend. I had my first baby at 25 - think it was a good age. Xx

Thank you everyone. @Pieceofpurplesky it doesn’t feel real. I haven’t processed it. That’s why I posted here so I don’t feel like I’m going mad😂

My sister was told she wouldn't get pregnant at 45 and with PCOS. Her kid is 12 now!

BritishDesiGirl · 30/10/2022 15:35

Oh, wow. Congratulations to you. Xx

LouLou198 · 30/10/2022 15:42

Definitely positive! I was told the same, got 2 dc, both conceived naturally. Congratulations Flowers

coodawoodashooda · 30/10/2022 15:46

Congratulations!

WingBingo · 30/10/2022 15:46

I was also told I would never conceive naturally. 4 rounds of IVF to no avail.

then I went on to have 2 DS naturally at 38 and 40.

It happens, hope all goes well!

girlmom21 · 30/10/2022 15:56

Oh wow.
That definitely looks positive. I'd get it confirmed via a blood test if you've been told you're infertile.

TickTockBaby · 30/10/2022 15:57

Super strong positive! Congratulations OP

Notanothernobhead · 30/10/2022 16:00

I think it’s important to remember that doctors operate on a probability system , there are very few absolutes. You were very unlikely to conceive but it looks like your numbers came up 🤩 and there’s no reason why they mightn’t come up again at some point . What a lovely surprise for you. Fingers tightly crossed for smooth sailing .

Betsyboo87 · 30/10/2022 16:16

Bfp for sure! I’m in a similar position, years of unproctected sex and then had DS via IVF. Currently 16 weeks with our second conceived naturally. I found it really overwhelming for a couple of weeks but we’re really excited now

B1993 · 30/10/2022 16:25

That's definitely postive! Huge congratulations! 🥳 I hope it's a happy surprise for you both 🥰

rubygiz · 31/10/2022 07:22

Same here had fertility treatment with ex tried for 7 years told it would only happen via medical intervention left husband divorced met my new partner Jan/feb and I am now 14 weeks

Yourteaisgettingcold · 31/10/2022 10:09

That's one of the most positive positives I've seen on here. Congratulations!!!! I'm so so happy for you.

Arayes · 31/10/2022 10:12

People are always saying they were told by drs they would never concieve and then they did...but drs really nevr say that. Thye might tell you its unlikely that you will or even very unlikely, but no more than that.
Unlikely events happen all the time

I think generally the difference between infertile and sterile isn’t explained. So people hear infertile and think they’re sterile. And likewise I know people who have been told they’re sterile and there is all round surprise that IVF can’t help them in the ‘usual’ way.
