Symptoms gone - IVF pregnancy

Just looking for some reassurance, got our first BFP 2 weeks ago after our 3rd IVF transfer, I have had sore boobs since about 4/5 days before we tested. I also have felt sick the last 3/4 days and have retched in the mornings.

I've woken up this morning feeling extra anxious, haven't felt sick at all and my sore boobs have gone. I have no symptoms anymore at all 😞 I can't stop crying, I'm so worried this is game over for us, our 7 week scan isn't until 8th November which feels ages away.

Just looking for reassurance that this is normal and symptoms fluctuate? Sorry, hope this all makes sense I feel like a bumbling idiot!

Hi op, it is totally normal! Completely understand the anxiety, but symptoms come and go and it really doesn't mean anything. Good luck for your scan, hang in there!

Completely normal! I had the exact same anxiety with my IVF pregnancy. I woke up a few times and my boobs were no longer sore. I even woke DH up in the night in tears because of it. Each time they did return. My symptoms completely disappeared by 10 weeks and I was so sure our 12 week scan would bring bad news. It was all fine though and I have a very healthy 2yr old resisting a nap right now! I know that wait feels like eternity but it does speed up.

Hi @C1umsyGiraffe it’s completely normal. All my symptoms were gone 2 days after I tested positive. Symptoms come and go.. Baby is now 5 months

Yep mine came and went both times- tied myself up in knots thinking it was a MMC , neither time it was.

Agree - I had few symptoms but nothing lasted very long. I had very slight morning sickness a few weeks in but it lasted days only. I also had spotting at about 6 weeks which terrified me, but I went for a scan as soon as I could and it showed two lovely heartbeats!

Now have gorgeous teenagers - seems a long time ago! But try not to worry. I think symptoms come and go - but congrats on the BFP and I wish you all luck!

My sore boobs had definitely gone by the time my scan came, good luck it's such an anxious time

Firstly, congratulations OP! IVF is tough!

I remember saying to my husband that my symptoms had gone a few times, then, next day or few days later they came back in full force or they’d be replaced by something else. It does happen so please don’t jump to the worst case scenario (easier said than done, I know!).

@C1umsyGiraffe how are you doing? I found your thread when searching the exact same thing I'm 5 weeks 2 days. Transfer was 2 and a half's ago. I've been crying all day no symptoms. Extremely light spotting. All the symptoms I had are gone. Scan on the 18th. Xxx

sorry to jump on this post, ive posted on a few other threads but had a reply yet and feeling slightly anxious

looking for some advice or past experiences. Im currently 6 weeks pregnant after a 5day embryo transfer. Went for an early scan but was measuring a few days less than I should have been. Sac and embryo were both seen but no heartbeat.

The clinic wasnt very reassuring and told me to test again in two weeks and book another scan if still BFP….

could I have had a miscarriage and not know due to IVF meds?

@IVFandus hi I'm currently 5w 4d. Through ivf. My clinic scans at 7 weeks. I had a bit bleeding and have been so anxious so they are scanning me at 6w+2 for reassurance as I'm so anxious. she said as it's early there might not be a heartbeat at that stage which is why they wait until 7 weeks. So warned me to be prepared for this. I hope that gives you a bit of reassurance xx

@J90A Thank you for your reply! I paid for private scan as my hospital one felt like a long wait but I understand why now.

How are you feeling? Are you having many symptoms? The anxiety is horrible isnt it xx

@IVFandus that's annoying the clinic you went to didn't tell you that though! Oh it's so bad. I'm still on progesterone pessaries so keep thinking that it's stopped progressing and I don't know because of the pessaries masking it. I didn't expect the anxiety to be this bad 🙈 I think after I'm discharged from the fertility clinic I might feel a bit better. But who knows. How you feeling today? Xx

@IVFandus sorry just realised I didn't answer your question. I had a really sore back during the wait after transfer which has gona now and I have sore boobs which also went away but seems to be back today. I've felt sick but I think that's the vitamins. How about you? Xxx

@J90A I know! I was also concerned that I wasn’t measuring where I should be and they didn’t give any explanation. I wouldn’t book another private scan.

I was thinking the same about the pessaries!! I don't know if they do mask it as I've read conflicting information….

Im feeling ok thank you how are you feeling? No real symptoms which is another worry. I was feeling sick for a few days but thats stopped! Ive had a bad back like you but thats not unusable for me! My boobs aren't sore either. So nothing to really make me feel like I’m having ‘symptoms’.

ive had on off cramping but I don't know if thats normal or a sign that somethings wrong!

So I think I was worrying too much, symptoms came back later that day 😂

However, 2/11 in the evening I had really painful cramps and started bleeding too, obviously that sent me into overdrive so we called 111 and they told us to go to A&E just to get checked out. They checked my bloods and said everything looked okay and referred us to the early pregnancy unit. We had a scan the day after and could see baby and baby's heartbeat 💛 but I also have a blood clot and baby was measuring a few days small. Obviously because of IVF I could pin point conception to the hour 😂 apparently blood clots are a common side effect of IVF too but they've booked me another scan for next Thursday to make sure it's okay, feeling so so incredibly anxious 😭

Hope you are all doing well. I'm in the same boat - got our bfp today, after an icsi cycle and we are now waiting for the date of our first scan. Just in disbelief. Fluctuating symptoms don't help. (How funny to be so thankful for any headache/nausea)!!! Great to have others in the same position.
My worry at the moment is coming off the progesterone pessaries. My clinic says they are not needed from bfp, but they made me feel more secure. It's just down to my own body now.....

@C1umsyGiraffe omg I could literally have written your last post of my weekend. I also felt no symptoms last week hence finding your post. Yesterday I had cramping bleeding like a period and I passed a blood clot. Went to A&e and was in the ward but they couldn't tell anything from bloods etc. the nurse thought the clot could be tissue. Went to preg support today and had a scan baby's there to our complete shock and has a heartbeat! My next scan is Friday. I'm so relieved today so I'm enjoying the lesser anxiety which I'm sure might return. We've got this ❤️ xxx

@IVFandus I meant to say. The pessary thing.. as I bled at the weekend there I'm now sure that no bleeding is a good sign as you can obv bleed on the pessary if it's strong enough. So try not to worry about that. Xxx

@SusiICSI congratulations!! 😊 I done a modified frozen transfer so as I didn't ovulate I need to stay on the pessaries as I won't be producing my own. It's catch how much anxiety and worry ramps up isn't it? I wasn't prepared 🙈😂 I though seeing the lines all my worry's would go away but they've just changed direction lol xx

@J90A Exactly! - the bfp was what I was wishing for, but I'm more of a nervous wreck now than I was before !!!!! Got my scan date of 8/12/22 - I'll be almost 8 weeks by then...wondering how on earth I'll keep chilled til then. Hope your scan goes well on Friday :)

@J90A oh wow! So so glad there was a heartbeat, how exciting! I still just feel so so anxious. My friend was saying how lucky I am to not be feeling any morning sickness or anything but I would love the symptoms right now, the good and bad!
