I’m 38 weeks and just ready to meet our first baby (having a surprise) I have a midwife’s appointment on Tuesday, last appointment she said baby was down and engaged but I didn’t ask how much (I didn’t know that was a thing).

anyone else this far along and doing anything to prepare? I’m drink raspberry leaf tea, eating dates , walking and yoga. Not sure any of it will help but worth trying! 😂

I'm with you. 39w tomorrow and fed up 😭😭 been trying to walk/exercise and sitting on my birthing ball but not done anything else as there's not a lot of evidence that any of it works but I'm so ready for this baby to pop out now!

Bambi11 · 30/10/2022 06:06

@CSR721 glad I’m not the only one feeling like this. I just don’t know how I’m going to do another (potentially) 4 weeks!
when is your due date? Have you had any signs?

I am not due soon but wanted to say how exciting for you! My baby is 12 weeks today and it goes so fast. My friends told me to walk fast up a big hill as that sent 3 of them into Labour the next day (probably not but they said it was worth a try!). I did it on the Friday afternoon, Saturday morning my waters went and baby was born just after midnight on her 'due date'. If there's a hill nearby then I'd give that a go too Grin

@wishuponastar1988 congratulations on your news 😃
mph where I leave it’s all hills! So I’m definitely going to try this! I’ll try anything 😂

Go for it! It nearly killed me doing it at almost 40 weeks in august but it seemed to do the trick Grin good luck and hope your baby arrives soon x

I only watched nice things on TV 😂 need to keep that oxytocin up!

RainbowSlide · 30/10/2022 07:00

I'm 39w today with my 3rd dc and definitely ready to meet the baby.. she's head down, anterior, not engaged (but apparently that's normal with non first babies). Lots of hill walking and bouncing, circles on my exercise ball. Pre labour acupuncture booked for tomorrow, sweep booked for Tuesday, really hope it helps!

If I don't go into labour I'm booked for a cs on 11 Nov so really hope to not need that.

Anyone on the raspberry leaf tea?

Bambi11 · 30/10/2022 07:08

@RainbowSlide have you had symptoms yet?
I think I’ll try the hill walking today. I’m enjoying the yoga ball as it’s really helped by back ache so hoping it helps Labour too!
have you had a sweep before?

Ive been drinking raspberry leaf tea once a day since 36 weeks but I’m not sure if it will do anything.

@PinkPlantCase this is a good idea…need to stop watching thrillers 😅

Walk up and down the stairs!

Palmface · 30/10/2022 10:02

@Bambi11 haven't had one yet I'm this pregnancy but I had a few on my first pregnancy, was fine. Didn't work but wasn't too uncomfortable.

I'm having symptoms like crampiness and lower back/pelvic pain, but that's been about a week and no labour.. will see if the acupuncture has any effect!

RainbowSlide · 30/10/2022 10:03

Sorry that was a name change fail ^

CSR721 · 30/10/2022 13:05

@Bambi11 I'm due a week today, no signs whatsoever, baby seems very comfortable where he is 😩 got a sweep booked when I'll be 40+2 but that seems so far away!! Will deff be trying this hill walk!!!

addler · 30/10/2022 13:17

I have an induction booked for Thursday if I don't go in to spontaneous labour before then. Feel like I've been pregnant forever.

With my first I did everything and nothing worked and he was forcibly cut out 11 days over after I developed pre eclampsia suddenly. I stressed myself out so much trying to do everything right and feeling like a failure that nothing worked so this time I haven't stressed myself out as much.

Obviously I just make too lovely a womb Confused

Bambi11 · 30/10/2022 18:56

@SunshineClouds1 I will try this, been for an hour walk today, needed a sleep after it 😅

@Palmface I had period like cramps last night but nothing today…

@CSR721 I feel for you, anything is worth a try!

@addler you must make it so nice for them if they don’t want to leave. I tried everything to get pregnant so now trying everything for baby to come. I feel relaxed about it so far…I’m sure that will change if I go over
