Hi

I am 7 weeks pregnant today and ive been bleeding quite heavily just wondered if someone could help. Can someone confirm whether this looks like a miscarrage ive got a scan tomorrow but going out my mind. One minute theres loads of blood then it stops and starts again when it starts again theres only a little bit like a few specks?

First 2 pictures is early this afternoon and then the last pic was about 15 minutes ago both pregnancy strips are coming back positive tho

Thanks in advance.

Hey love this looks so scary

Is it painful?

I would go and see the EPU

Have you got their number? Otherwise a&e and have a scan and bloods

Lots of love

Pregnancy tests will be positive sometimes for weeks after miscarriage. They indicate nothing so don't drive yourself crazy with them. They are meaningless.
It does look like fresh blood.
I'm sorry.
I've had 6 miscarriages and each have been different so there's no way to tell but in one successful pregnancy I did bleed a little bit.

AnuSTart · 29/10/2022 17:36

I would get to the EPU asap. That's a lot of blood and doesn't look good. I'm so sorry

Could well be a subchorionic hematoma OP. Good luck for your scan, hope it's a positive outcome for you

Squiggle92 · 30/10/2022 09:21

Hi @TeddyBeans can i ask what a subchorionic hematoma is? Thanks.

OP posts:
TeddyBeans · 30/10/2022 09:24

It's like a pool of blood that's in your uterus but doesn't affect baby in any way. It can either come out as unexpected bleeding or be reabsorbed. Some bleeding is completely unexplained though, you might not get a reason for it

Squiggle92 · 30/10/2022 09:28

Really, So basically of that for nothing? haha got a scan today hopefully and i mean hopefully all is okay thank you for your comment thats reassuring x

It could be, you won't know until your scan though. Good luck and let us know how it goes 🍀

girlmom21 · 30/10/2022 09:33

Fingers crossed for a positive outcome x

I'm sorry- it doesn't mean anything. My cervix was closed when I was miscarrying. That's a lot of blood. Looks like my miscarriages.

There's no way to tell for sure until the scan. But I would try to prepare yourself for the fact that it might be bad news. Sorry. I hope it's the opposite for you.

Squiggle92 · 30/10/2022 11:31

Assuming even with a Miscarrage you still have symptons such as Morning sickness and Nausia? etc?

OP posts:
IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 30/10/2022 15:20

Yes unfortunately HCG drops only after pregnancy loss which means you will still have symptoms even if miscarrying. as others have said, the good option would be hematoma, the bad option miscarriage. What time is your scan? I really hope it's good news x

Squiggle92 · 30/10/2022 15:35

Had scan everything okay with baby so overwhelmed..

Phew that's amazing news!

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 30/10/2022 15:46

That's great @Squiggle92 !!! Bleeding can be sub or other hematoma or even sometimes just crazy implantation or sometimes unfortunately they just go 🤷‍♀️. Brilliant all is ok

TeddyBeans · 30/10/2022 20:00

Great news OP! Hope the rest of your pregnancy is smooth and uneventful ❤️

channin · 30/10/2022 21:55

That's wonderful news! X

Cw112 · 30/10/2022 22:00

That's great news op. I had a subchorionic hematoma. Absolutely terrifying and had that type of bleeding a few times a week until about week 10. Now 35 weeks and all looking good so far fingers crossed. Keep in touch with your epau rather than a+e because they're specialists in early pregnancy care a and e won't be. If you find you're bleeding through a sanitary pad in an hour then treat it as a emergency, otherwise just try not to panic and give epau a bell if you need a reassurance scan. Hope all goes OK for you, just take care of yourself these things are hard on the head.
