At my booking in appointment at 10+5 weeks my midwife wanted to refer me for an early scan that week (pre 12 weeks) to determine exact dates as I was unsure.

She told me I'd get notified of the scan via the badger notes app and hospital letter.

A week later I still hadn't received a letter and the app doesn't work at all.

I contacted her and she said she would chase up, I still heard nothing so booked a private scan for my own reassurance. They told me I was a week ahead of what I thought, I messaged my midwife straight away and two days later I have still not had a response and am now 13 weeks.

I am also awaiting the results from the booking in blood test which she said she'd have for me within 3 days, I've waited nearly 2 weeks now.

I am at a loss on who or where to call now as the only contact number I have is for her and she is not replying to texts or calls. She said when she is off work the phone is diverted to a receptionist however the line just rings off.
I know how busy maternity care is but the lack of contact isn't very reassuring.
Any ideas or advice very much welcome x

I'd call the maternity hospital and state you are 13 weeks and no one has given you a scan appt. They need to do checks prior to 14weeks

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl just had a call from the team my midwife is on, very sheepish as they are concerned they've missed the window for the Down syndrome etc screening. They are hoping to rush me in for the 12 week scan and blood test tomorrow. Not impressed so far with the care 😔

@rebecca100 definitely a bit disorganised at the moment!

rubygiz · 27/10/2022 19:57

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl don't worry about the screening too much my little monster would not cooperate at the 12 week so I am having the 2nd trimester marker screening which is more sensitive and I am having that at 14 +2 I am having to have that due to my age and my oh eldest has DS so we need to know if there are any issues

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 27/10/2022 19:57

They can do it up to 14 weeks so you have time! I will be 13+2 at mine.

Are you in Scotland? Just as I have badger notes too!

@rebecca100 sorry my previous comments was for you 🤦🏽‍♀️ baby brain

rebecca100 · 27/10/2022 20:07

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl no, I'm in Surrey, it's just started working after speaking to a different midwife. I told mine 3 times that it didn't work and nothing!!
