I'm 8+1 today and since yesterday have been spotting. After my husband and I had sex, I started bleeding light red blood, which lasted several hours before bed. In the morning it was more of a browny-pink colour and I'm still having discharge of that colour.

I have had bright red bleeding at the start of this pregnancy (I was roughly 3+3), which cleared after a few days. EPAU saw me at 6+1 and scan showed a baby with heartbeat.

I called this morning but they didn't seem concerned. They have offered a scan for next Thursday though.

I'm so worried though and not sure if this is a bad sign (I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks just 4 weeks before this pregnancy).

First image shows bleeding from last night (looks more brown as I didn't get a photo until it had dried), second photo from just now.

Sorry for the gross pics but just wanted you to see what mine was like while having a miscarriage, yours looks pink rather than bright red so I wouldn't worry to much I know easier said than done. Try to stay positive as loads of people bleed in pregnancy and the baby's fine. Congrats on pregnancy and I hope everything is ok for you and baby! Will keep you in my thoughts keep me updated on how the scan goes. Really hope it's good news for you. I know it's such a horrible time waiting for the scan to see if everything is okay.

@ttc2603 Thank you for replying!! I had an early miscarriage a few weeks before conceiving this pregnancy and that started with light brown spotting, then that progressed to pink and then red so I think I'm extra anxious. It's reassuring that the colour doesn't look concerning to you. Spotting seems to have stopped now too so I'm
hoping that's a good sign!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Hi OP, I had pink, brown and occasionally red spotting from 10 weeks up to 16 weeks! All was absolutely fine and now 24 weeks.

Lots of things can cause it: mine was a small hematoma which was correcting itself, but I was also told that your cervix is super sensitive during pregnancy so sex may have irritated it slightly!

I chose to book a private scan the day after I started spotting due to anxiety after an MC at 10 weeks the previous month. All was looking good and I was also told not to worry unless a) the bleeding was heavy, bright red and accompanied by clots or b) I was in lots of pain.

I hope this helps! :)

I completely understand I would be anxious too it's horrible isn't it. I had spotting this pregnancy too and everything was ok this time around so bleeding isn't always a bad sign so try not to be anxious about it as it may just be from sex. Hoping you get your rainbow baby 🤞. Did you ring the Epu? Also it's a very good sign that your not bleeding anymore :) hope you feel reassured and try to take some time to yourself and take care of yourself while your waiting as I know it's very stressful.

@ttc2603 i akk look so had bright red bleeding at the start of this pregancy but that cleared within a couple of days and I managed to see a heartbeat on a scan a couple weeks after that. Midwives put it gosh to either leftover blood from miscarriage the month before or from a anti-thrush pessary.

It seems like this pregnancy is going to test me from the start but I hope I don't have any more hurdles!!

EPU didn't seem too concerned when I rang but booked me in for a scan anyway, which is great of them!!
