Resigning during maternity

I am a teacher who has to give a full terms notice to resign from my position. If I end my maternity on the day my summer holidays start, but having already resigned at Easter time, would I get paid for the Summer holidays? Any help is appreciated.

The day you put as your last on the resignation letter will determine when you are paid until. For the end of the academic year the date is normally 31 August to ensure you get paid over the summer.

It is also worth noting that if you receive enhanced maternity pay and do not return to work you may be expected to repay it. This will be specific to your school and found in your policy.
