Ohh thank you @Awkwardusername I was planning on going shopping on Saturday, so I will definitely pop into Primark as that is exactly what I was looking for!

I told my boss at 11 weeks, as I had to see a consultant straight after my 12 week scan so I needed the whole afternoon off. We are only a very small family company and the whole family have been wonderful, there are only 5 of us in the office and they keep checking in on me and making sure I am okay which is lovely!
There is one girl in the office who didn't take it very well which is exactly how I expected it to go to be honest, she doesn't ask any questions and has been really funny with me about taking time off for appointment or maternity leave but I just completely ignore her! haha

Has anyone suffered with panic attacks before?

I've never ever had one in my life before but had a panic attack at work today after a customer had confused the life out of me regarding a job we was working on, I don't even know how it happened but I'm really worried I've caused any harm to the baby.

Should this be something I need to discuss with my midwife when I go for my check up on Friday?

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 29/11/2022 15:54

@EllieJayneB they are horrible experiences and yes I would mention to midwife as hormones and pregnancy anxiety can lead to panic attacks. However, there is no risk at all to your baby. Even though panic attacks feel awful, they don't risk your physical health or the babies health at all.

Honestly! I'm still very teary now almost 4 hours later, feeling so run down and exhausted. That's the worst thing I've ever experienced in my life... I just didn't understand where it came from at all. I'll be sure to talk to my midwife on Friday when I see her but hopefully it's not a re-occurring thing🤞🏻

@CatMad22 no advice but also having a flap about telling work! I got an internal promotion and found out I was pregnant 3 days after I started 🙈 we'd been trying for nearly 4 years so it didn't even occur to me to try and skip a month or anything.

So I need to navigate telling a new boss, and a new team, that they need to hold their horses re being relieved that I'm on board because I'm about to actually hop off board!

It doesn't help that I'm ill and off work at the moment with a horrendous chest infection and then in early December I'm on annual leave for a week! You can't make these timings up 😂

I think I'll just be factual on my next 121 when I feel well enough to log back in, the fuzzy head is too much at the moment.

This also happened to me! I didn't realise I was pregnant until 9 weeks in, which was about 10 weeks after I started in my new, incredibly fast paced role.

I told my boss informally as it was totally unplanned and unexpected and so I was waiting for screening results etc and she was really lovely. Haven't yet had the follow up call with her to confirm everything and tell the rest of the team...

How is everyone feeling today? I am nearly 18 weeks but still just can not imagine the baby will arrive safely and I will finally get to hold her. Anyone else struggling to picture this finally happening?

I am 17 weeks tomorrow, and despite 3 scans and one heartbeat Doppler I sometimes feel like it's not real 😅 then I'll feel something which I believe is movement and it feels a bit more real.

I've blocked out all hospital/birth stuff, it's a black void as far as I'm concerned. I can imagine being home afterwards and little moments here and there, but I think they're romanticised and in reality I'll be exhausted/drooling asleep 😂

MissBee02 · 29/11/2022 17:40

Hi All, I haven't been back on for a bit I been feeling crazy and anxious and a bit crappy. I went for another ultrasound and basically the same thing has happened as I get bigger and cravings approx 17 weeks and still silence to concentrate on the scan I feel silenced. I'm in the midst of seeking a 2nd opinion and trying to settle myself and find motivation and energy but my instincts and intuition are driving me to find answers. Otherwise from strong pregnancy symptoms religiously by the book to the fine tune. My uterus is still retroverted and flexed, I'm having terrible back ache and swimming to see if it might position forward and gentle yoga. Once again it's been said in literature that retroverted uterus babies may not be seen until 20 weeks, movements on 22 to 24 weeks and showing a very late bump so I'm,waiting. Still abstinent and presented to the ER thus week from dizzy spells and fainting feelings. BP good, GTG of heart good nothing else again sent home without back relief or advice to manage. I nearly fainted walking to collect mail the other day saw stars and staggered back inside. Anyone have any further ideas besides getting another opinion please I thought I seen a face on pic on the last scan different and bigger than my October one on edge. Even once I thought it was a head lying transverse across abdomens and leg bent over the body.

MissBee02 · 29/11/2022 17:51

At one timemi thought this was the potty shot and was bent over perfectly before scribing on it. Its the same a s above. The pic in the edge though with little beam eyes and a face has really got me almost upright maybe tucked into the titled uterus at the curl end ...I have no idea maybe it's small maybe it's big and I'm totally missing it maybe I'm seeing things. I just want to get on with my life 😩

@MissBee02

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 29/11/2022 19:46

@MissBee02 if you could see anything that was part of a fetus then a trained sonographer could see it too, so I would worry you are misreading images.

I would be seeking more opinions about what is going on for you with hormones and gynaecological health, rather than feeling sure this is pregnancy. If your symptoms were related to pregnancy, then your HCG, prolactin would be high to reflect that. If they aren't high and clearly indicative of pregnancy then it's likely there's another answer. I hope you get some clarity asap x

Zaalfruit · 29/11/2022 20:41

@MissBee02 have they offered you a transvaginal ultrasound as I know that can help identify with a retroverted uterus . ( I remember from a thread a long time ago a woman had mentioned that she was offered one due to her retroverted uterus ) .

@TheBeesKnee this is me , let’s stay Oblivious about the actual birthing !! Oh I can’t wait to the hear the heart beat and have my next scan . I am just trying to stay cool .

CatMad22 · 29/11/2022 23:48

Thank you everyone for your reassuring comments about telling work! I've decided to tell them tomorrow and will force myself not to back out.

I had my private scan this evening - it's a boy! Very pleased and the experience was lovely.

@EllieJayneB please don't worry about the panic attack (easier said than done I know) - it's the most horrendous feeling in the world, I've been there, but you won't have harmed the baby. The symptoms you feel are from adrenaline and won't cause lasting damage. I used to have mine due to endometriosis pain so I understand.

AlwaysTryingToHelp · 30/11/2022 15:33

@CatMad22 Wonderful news, a baby boy, congratulations!

Hope you are okay @EllieJayneB I know it is much easier said than done but try and take this evening (or even tomorrow) for yourself, have a little pamper! Maybe a nice bath, face mask and relax. Just let your body have a rest, it is going through such a big change at the moment.

MissBee02 · 30/11/2022 16:45

Thankyou all Prolactin levels done and are good, also HCG levels are on track, rose and doubles then starting to decline slowly now not so much significantly. I will be ok, I guess I will wait til I feel movement and of I from bigger put the 2 together and stomp and down. My providers need to talk and keep us informed. All other pathology is great and internal organs great. TV scan was used I my 1st pregancy in January this yr and it aggravated the cervix or placenta that made me spot and light bleed after so they don't recommend anymore. Thanks all. I will get clarity soon or maybe something will move forward visible around 20 + week. There's no denying th a t unique movement feeling and kicks too I have friends who have told me Xx

TheBeesKnee · 01/12/2022 12:59

I had to return to work today because I'd need a sick note for any more time off and it was enough of a hassle to get an appointment for antibiotics last week - think I only got it because I am pregnant.

Had a brief chat with my manager but unfortunately chickened out of telling him because he spent about 10 minutes telling me to take it easy 🙈

We have a return to work meeting/interview next Wednesday so I might tell him then? Gah.

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 01/12/2022 13:51

All well at 16wk - low risk for trisomies and got to hear the heartbeat!

lmw88 · 01/12/2022 16:58

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl lovely to hear. I've got my midwife appt on Saturday hopefully get to hear wee baby's heart beating'

RugbyGirl1 · 01/12/2022 17:20

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl glad to hear it all went well for you today 😊 I had my 16 week midwife appointment last Friday and got to hear the heartbeat too 😍 and when they turned!

Luk · 01/12/2022 17:48

I went for my 16 week appt today (although I'm 17+5) and they wouldn't get the Doppler out - apparently it's their policy not to do so, as it's quite common not to be able to hear anything at this stage, but if they don't hear anything, it's an automatic referral to the hospital for scans and a big time waste. To be honest the hospital is a 1hr 20 min drive away so glad to not have to bother with that (will worry about the journey whilst in labour closer to the time!) But a shame not to be able to hear the heartbeat today.

Luk · 01/12/2022 17:49

I should say - obviously not a waste of time if there is a problem, but in many instances all is fine, it's just too early to hear!

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 01/12/2022 18:15

@Luk my midwife was like "this is not usually done and DO NOT worry if we don't hear it, that is totally normal at 16wks". I think she basically only did it as I seemed worried and she was super experienced (told me she has worked there 20yrs!)

RugbyGirl1 · 01/12/2022 20:39

@Luk @IWillBeWaxingAnOwl it must be different in each area - my midwife offered it without me asking, saying that often they can't hear it but they could try if I'd feel comfortable enough if it couldn't be heard. As soon as they put the thing on my tummy I could hear it! Just got a wait now until 20 week scan on 28 December. Does the worry ever stop 😂

Zaalfruit · 02/12/2022 14:37

My trust doesn’t do the Doppler - fetal heart beat . It’s such a shame because my old trust used to . I just want my 20 week scan to come !
im much more behind than most in this group as I’m due late May .

Melusina123 · 02/12/2022 15:01

I was sitting here thinking how nice it would be to feel quickening, and I gave my abdomen a gentle poke and... it felt like something poked back!! 😭 It still might be gas, as I have been very gassy lately... but I had this moment of WOW was that the first time the little blob and I communicated with each other?? (Or was it my colon and I having a chat 🤣)

(For info I am 18+1, first child, but have always been very in tune with the various gurglings of my stomach so was expecting to be on the early end of feeling quickening)

Melusina123 · 02/12/2022 15:03

My trust doesn't do Doppler until 20wks and I had a bad interaction with the midwife at my 16w appt so just wanted to get out of there, didn't want to ask and get a lecture on why they don't do it. Was very disappointed though as it would have meant a lot to get to hear the heartbeat again and have some info that hopefully everything was ok.
